Pet care experience
I have been caring for pets for a long time, however as of June of this year (2023) I lost my last dog due to old age and lost my previous dog (20 years old due to the same in October 2022). Both of these dogs were special needs with advanced cognitive decline so I have alot of experience handling these types of family members. I am providing sanctuary for a small, shy dog until she is adoptable for a local rescue. I am looking to share my home and love to your pet. I have a nice place, fenced back yard, and enjoy taking walks with a dog that enjoys them. I don’t freak out over accidents as my downstairs is all hardwood. My preference for a dog is medium to small, non-aggressive and preferably medium to low anxiety.
Reviews
Patrick was phenomenal in providing periodic updates and my dog had a great day with him!
Over the moon happy. What a great dog sitter. Initially booked because of distance. All future bookings will be because he is a kind, sweet, caring human being. We feel our dogs were more calm because of his demeanor and we were because of his great pics ,videos and updates. Thank you so much!!!
Patrick is great with animals. He is very caring. He's just a good man and would take care of any pet as if it were his own. He is also very trustworthy, no worries if the arrangement were in your home.

Safety, trust & environment
In terms of my pet routines and safety, I am very familiar with crates, gates, playpens, etc. I am fluent with technology in case you want to have video chats, pics, etc. also very familiar with various medications with the exception of injections. My preference is to have no more than two dogs at any given time unless bonded, but might start with one at a time. Additionally, I’m not overly concerned with dogs on the couch, etc. I am a single male with no children but occasionally have adult visitors in case your pet isn’t used to children. Any pets with aggressive tendencies toward humans or other pets should be disclosed up front so I can make a decision on acceptance or not. I get some dogs are aggressive to other dogs, but the more I know, the better prepared I can be.

Information Patrick S. would like to know about your pet
I prefer to do a meet and greet to write down or record notes of what a pet needs. Each situation has differences. I enjoy adapting if I observe something a pet likes or dislikes, but the more I know in advance is helpful. Some dogs hate walks for example. My last dog was a rescue and was scared of large men as another example.
A typical day
I enjoy adapting to the needs of a dog. Daily walks are good as well as play and relaxation time in my back yard as well as inside. I work out at home so it's fun watching the looks I get from a dog watching me. :)

Availability
I work in NYC 3x per week so I can pet sit on days I’m not commuting and on weekends. Days I don’t commute, I work from home and pretty flexible on those days.
