WFH, full time pet spoiler

Hello! My name is Patrick, although my friends refer to me as V. I have a TrustedHouse sitters profile that I am primarily on & have over a dozen 5* reviews which I can show when asked! I’m originally from the South and grew up in rural Texas on my family’s farm. From my early adult years until now (30), I’ve been traveling around the country & have had the opportunity to meet so many wonderful people and be exposed to so many different lifestyles! Because of that, I am very flexible with a lot of different quirks in people, places & animals. Animals have always been a part of my life. I grew up around farm animals, and later on, cats and dogs became a consistent presence in my home & especially my travels the last 8 years I had a cat named Tulip, who was my best friend and travel companion for the past eight years. She recently passed after a long, full life with me. Because of that loss, I’m not quite ready to welcome a new pet of my own just yet. Instead, I’ve chosen to spend this time loving and caring for other people’s animals, which has helped fill the space she left in my heart. Corny I know! But she really was my best friend & my only family I’m a very clean and respectful person (I actually enjoy tidying up!) and will always leave your space better than I found it. I like to send walkthrough videos before you coming home so you have the peace of mind of knowing for a fact you’re coming home to a clean home. Since I’m self-employed and work remotely, your pets will never be left alone for long…they’ll have company, playtime, and affection throughout the day & night. I’m also happy to send updates or photos so you can feel connected and reassured while you’re away. I do not smoke, do drugs or have a strong desire in going out. I’m a bit boring in that I like being a homebody as I appreciate solitude & peace; nature is the biggest motivator for me as well as pleasant places to walk. I am big on communication & work best with clear guidelines from both yours & my side. I raised tulip on a structured routine since we did travel so much so I really appreciate those who have their own animals on structured schedules. Not mandatory of course, but I do think it plays a positive effect on the animals life - especially when a stranger is taking care of them it usually helps with their anxiety. I’m always happy to meet ahead of time so you can feel comfortable with who you’re entrusting your pets and home to. Speaking from personal experience, knowing the person caring for your animals makes a huge difference in reducing stress and anxiety. I am a fulltime house/petsitter & use other apps as well so if you’d like to see my profile on other places let me know! And even if we cannot meet in person, I am more than happy to get on video calls, phone calls etc as it’s extremely important for both of us to get a feel for each other If you have any questions at all, please feel free to reach out, I’d love to connect!

Safety, trust & environment

Because I traveled for so many years with my cat & taking care of such big dogs, I have become very in tune with the needs of animals & how to ensure they have an enriching environment; as well as knowing how to read their body language and help them relax during stressful situations. I find consistency best for pets especially when they’re anxious about new people — it helps them relax a bit so I do my best at providing as much structure as possible

I used to work with Patrick when we were both nurses, and I trusted him to take care of my golden retriever, Moose, and my cat, Mufasa, while I was out of town. He was amazing with both of them. Moose is a high-energy goofball who needs structure, and Patrick kept him calm, happy, and well-exercised the whole time. Mufasa is my moody cat who normally hides from everyone, but somehow Patrick had him cuddled up within a couple days. That honestly shocked me. Patrick is super reliable, thoughtful, and just has a really good vibe with animals. I’d trust him any time to care for my pets or home.

I used to be roommates with Velca for a couple years up in Maple Falls & I would often wake up and see him playing with my older German shepherd who I adopted from a neglectful home so he has really bad anxiety and trust issues; I think Velca’s calm demeanor is what made him instantly feel comfortable and fall in love with him. Definitely a gem I would recommend to anyone who seriously cares about their animal.
