Availability
Dog sitting is my only job, and my flexible schedule revolves around that. I can be available at any reasonable time for pick-up and drop off appointments. I'm home almost all of the time to be with the dogs, only leaving to run brief errands when necessary.

Safety, trust & environment
All dogs are cared for in my home. I have a large, securely fenced in back yard. During the day, dogs are free to be outside to play in the backyard as much as they wish. All dogs sleep in large crates or X-pens in our comfortable dog room at night, or when we are not home. We have a young cavalier who would be happy to have new friends to play with. For safety, I separate dogs for feeding and if we're out of the house, although it's rare that no one is home. Guests need to like other dogs and people.

Information Patrick H. would like to know about your pet
Please let me know if your dog has any allergies or other special needs. Guests in our home must get along with other dogs, like people, and not dig under fences. They must also be up to date on flea and tick prevention and the following vaccines: Rabies, distemper, parvo, and bordatella. You must show your rabies certificate at drop off. Please bring sufficient food that your dog is used to eating to last the duration of their stay, as sudden changes in diet can lead to upset stomach. It is also a good idea to bring along a blanket, towel, or article of clothing that smells like home. If you have an intact female, you must know when they are due to come in heat, as I do not take females who are in heat.
A typical day
Weather permitting, lots of play time with the other dogs in the yard. Playing ball with a chuckit, frisbee, kids play tunnel. If the weather is bad, some indoor thinking games. Puzzles, some hiding cookies and letting them find them. Well behaved dogs can play and hang out with family. I will often feed then using a Kong or toppl, snuffle mat or lickit mat to keep boredom at bay.

Dog sitting in a caring home!
Pet care experience
I have a lifetime of experience with pet care, which began with helping my mom run her in-home dog boarding business when I was growing up. The skills and experience that I've gained in that time enable me to provide the best possible care for your pet. I live with my girlfriend who is a veterinary technician with over 15 years of experience. Ours is a loving home, with a large, securely fenced yard. Our top priority is to keep your dog safe, feeling comfortable, and relaxed, just as they would be in their own home. I offer boarding, walks, in home visits, and more. I am comfortable giving meds, preparing special diets, and caring for puppies as well as seniors. I used to train and show dogs when I was younger, and can help get your puppy off on the right foot with house training.

Reviews

Had a great experience with Patrick. We had an unplanned trip for family reasons and had to find a sitter for Whiskey (1yo unfixed cav) a day before leaving. Patrick was very accommodating with this last minute booking and extending Whiskey's stay for another night. Whiskey had an awesome time playing with Moose. We got updates with pictures and videos. We're definitely going to book again for other trips
Patrick is very compassionate about animals and is knowledgeable to know how to meet their needs to ensure comfort and care. He has cared for my senior dog while I was away and even though my dog has a history of not trusting new people has never had a problem with Patrick. I was sent photos and updates throughout his stay and while he was on walks to help ease my mind that he was being well cared for.
Patrick has taken care of my dogs for years. He loves to play and cuddle with them and is very responsible when it comes to keeping them safe and happy.
I am Patrick’s mom! I have run an in home dog care business for the last 45 years, and he has been a big part of it as he was growing up. When he was home from college, he would run the business so I could travel. He is experienced, caring, and pays attention to detail. He will be a great addition to Rover.
