Parent of 2 Pampered Puppers

I'm Trish, a software engineer who works from home. My husband, Ray, and I have a large apartment on the ground floor of our house, with access to our small (but mighty) backyard. We have two young kids, so we're only able to watch small dogs at this time. We brought home our older furbaby, Romola, in summer 2019. She's a Greater Swiss Mountain Dog and is over 100lbs, yet gentle with kids and dogs alike (as is typical of her breed). In March of 2025, we said goodbye to our beloved Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, Alva, at the age of 13, after a long struggle with mitral valve disease and congestive heart failure. We welcomed our feisty new Cavalier puppy, Xenia, in May of 2025. Roma and Xenia get along swimmingly, and they both love having canine friends to romp around with. Roma and Xenia belong to needy breeds, and that's no coincidence -- I love giving dogs attention/affection just as much as they crave it! Having playmates for my girls and more doggies to dote on are my primary reasons for wanting to petsit on Rover. I accept dogs for daycare on days when I'm working from home, so they can enjoy long, supervised playdates with my pups. For overnight stays, your dog will stay in our bedroom so s/he isn't isolated or lonely. Belly rubs and photo updates come complimentary with each visit. I look forward to offering your beloved pooch a fun, welcoming, safe place to stay.

Schedule

I work from home 2 days a week (the other 3 days I'm home by late afternoon) so I'm able to let your pup (and mine) out at frequent intervals, and feed him or her when my dog is fed in the mornings and evening.

Where your pet will stay

Home characteristics

Lives in a house
Has a fenced yard
Non-smoking household
Has 2 dogs
Children 0-5 years old
Dogs not allowed on bed
Dogs allowed on furniture
Potty breaks every 4-8 hours

Safety, trust & environment

Your dog(s) will be treated just like my own. Typically our canine guests follow me or my husband around as we go about our day, usually lounging on the sofa next to my desk or an ottoman near the window. Many dogs enjoy playing with my pups.

Pets

A typical day

Your dog will enjoy walks on the "scenic" streets of Bayonne and playtime in our yard. We might also (with your prior approval) bring your pup for a trip to our in-laws', where there's a large, grassy, fenced-in yard and a friendly Collie to play with (i.e. Roma and Xenia's happy place).

Unspayed females accepted, neutered males only
No females in heat
Patricia can host up to 3 pets per night
Since the safety and well-being of all the dogs in my house (including my own) are a top priority, I cannot take any dogs that have shown aggression towards dogs or people. Because of the terms of our home owners insurance, I'm unable to watch Pit bull-type dogs (e.g. Am. Bulldogs, Am. Pit Bull Terriers, Am. Staffordshire Terriers, American Bullies, and Staffordshire Bull Terriers), Rottweilers, Chow Chows, Presa Canarios, Akitas, Doberman Pinschers, Mastiffs, German Shepherds, Cane Corsos, Siberian Huskies, or Alaskan Malamutes.
Each sitter joining Rover needs to pass a background check. And by booking on Rover, you can get photo & message updates, 24/7 support, and reimbursement for eligible vet care.
