30 years breeding and training quality golden retrievers. Working with animals is my passion!! I’m skilled in administering medications, training and some grooming. We live on a 5 acre farm with our beautiful Goldens and 2 horses. Our home is easily accessible and walking distance to downtown Sycamore. Your pet will be given lots of love and attention in a safe environment. We treat your pet as one of the family. I just retired from the Sycamore School District, so I’m free to be a “Puppy Grandma”, to your special family member! I’m available most days to meet your various schedules. Your pet will become part of the family. We have a clean, smoke free home on 5 acres with plenty of walking areas on property and off. Our Goldens are super friendly but will be kept separately from our guests in their own facility unless given permission to interact with guest.

Pamela is an amazing dog sitter. I highly recommend her. During our meet and greet, Pamela asked a ton of questions to really learn about Willow and all her needs/habits, etc. Pamela has a ton of experience with many dog breeds and taught me a few things. Her dogs got along great with ours and we knew it would be a great fit. While Willow stayed with Pamela, I know Pamela and her family treated our Willow pup with all the love as her own dogs. She sent photos of our dog while we were gone, which made our hearts happy to see our Willow living her best life on her “doggy vacation” while we were on vacation. It made us feel better knowing Willow was so well taken care of while we were gone. We will certainly keep Pamela on speed dial for our next vacations. ?

Pamela boarded our dog, Jackson, and we were very happy with the service and would use Pamela again when needed! Pamela is warm and caring and I know that helped our dog feel safe with her. I feel she is very generous taking a dog into her home, providing a more personal way to board a dog. We were very thankful to have found her and it did help us relax more about leaving Jackson when we were away.
We had Pamela come by our house every other day for a week to sit our cat. Our cat is very shy and always hides when strangers come by, but with Pam she was very affectionate and friendly. Pam took very good care of our cat and even brought in our mail. We would highly recommend Pam and would definitely use her again.
I've known Pam since I was 9 years old...just a few years. LOL. Pam is dependable, honest, and trustworthy. She loves animals and takes such good care of her own and others. I would totally trust my beloved pet with Pam.

Schedule
I'm retired and home most days. I do travel to MI, occasionally to visit our family. I can be pretty flexible. My husband is recently retired as well and loves animals too. We often have clients' pets in bed with us when they're here. I do require all pets to be up to date on vaccinations and flea treatments.

Safety, trust & environment
Clients provide their pets food and a feeding schedule as well as a medication schedule if needed. Pets are treated with kindness and given lots of attention. For safety measures, pet is placed in a crate if I have to run to the store... If I'm familiar with pet from previous stays and know that they are ok out of a crate, I allow them to be loose in a safe area of our home.

A typical day
Having trained goldens for many years, I work on some obedience training. We go for walks on and off of our property, play with toys, car rides if permitted and snuggle while watching tv. I will also consider dropping pet off at groomer or vet appointment if needed.
