Safety, trust & environment

1. Create a Secure, Pet‑Safe Environment I prioritize safety by pet-proofing all areas—tucking away loose items, securing small objects, and removing anything toxic within reach. I supervise pets at all times, even in fenced yards, and avoid assuming familiarity protects against escapes or mishaps. 2. Use Barriers and Supervision for Added Security To prevent accidental exits, I employ secondary barriers—like baby gates or exercise pens—when entering or exiting through doors. Even in clients’ homes, I discuss acceptable barrier use ahead of time to ensure safety. 3. Establish Safe Boundaries & Routines I maintain separate feeding areas and “own spaces” for each pet to avoid tension and provide comfort. Cleanliness and routine are central—each pet has its own safe zone, whether in my home or yours- 4. Meet & Greet for Confidence and Preparedness I always recommend a Meet & Greet before booking—this gives us a chance to establish comfort and go over logistics such as key access, gate codes, and safe entry routes. It also helps me anticipate quirky behaviors and preferences that enhance care. 5. Respecting Your Home & Access Protocols When caring for pets in your home, I ensure a secure access plan—whether through tested codes, spare keys, or lockboxes—and always return keys promptly. I conduct perimeter checks to confirm gates are closed, trash secured, and hazardous zones off-limits. 6. Open, Tailored Communication Builds Trust I’ll work with you to determine your preferred update style—daily summaries, photo check-ins, or notes only if something unusual occurs. Consistent, clear communication not only reassures you, but also ensures your pet’s care is seamless. 7. Emergency Preparedness Included I keep emergency contact info—including vets, local animal hospitals, and your trusted contacts—on hand. I’m prepared to act quickly and responsibly in case of illness or safety concerns. 8. Built‑In Assurance through Rover’s Standards As part of the Rover community, I’ve passed a comprehensive background check and adhere to Rover’s Trust & Safety protocols, including the Rover Guarantee and responsive booking protection. Our communications always stay within the platform to ensure transparency and security.

Pam watched our dog during the holidays with a last minute booking. She was accommodating of our schedule and requests. She spoiled our dog like she was her own, and our dog just loved the time spent with her. We will be using her again in the future. Pam was a pleasure to work with, and I would highly recommend her to others!

Wow! She was simply amazing with our girls! We couldn’t have asked for a better person to walk them. She usually does a meet and greet but because our booking was last minute she just trusted that our 2 golden girls would be sweet and welcoming. (Which they were). Will definitely be booking her again!

Pamela took care of my 3 cats and stayed in my home to avoid to have them getting situated elsewhere as one of my cats is a scaredy cat. She visited upfront to get to know our routine and to meet the furry customers. And what can i say, they loved her. She´s for sure a cat whisperer. We got updates throughout the day and and she sent us a lot of pictures. I am happy we found her and for my next vacation i know who my Cat sitter will be. Thank you Pamela for the 100% positive experience. Marlin, Spooky and Piri say "Hi".

Pam recently took care of our chickens while we were on vacation and she did an exceptional job! They always had fresh food and water. She let them out each morning and made sure they were safely in their coop each night. Pam is caring, reliable, and trustworthy, and I would highly recommend her for any pet care position.

Pam was awesome with my 2 large dogs! They both adore her even my grumpy old lady! I was completely comfortable leaving them with her or welcoming her in my home. Highly recommend Pam!

I hired Pam to take care of my dog, June, while I was on a work trip. June is a small, clingy dog who usually doesn't do well when I'm away. I was hesitant to hire someone because June isn't very sociable. However, after an initial introduction, my worries disappeared as Pam and June quickly bonded. I was amazed to see June warm up to Pam and even give her kisses within minutes. Pam stayed at my house and treated June as her own, even FaceTiming me (though June didn't seem to miss me). I felt completely at ease, knowing my puppy was in good hands. I highly recommend Pam and will definitely use her services again!

Schedule

1. Adhere to Your Pet’s Regular Routine As an effective sitter, I stick closely to your pet’s feeding, walking, and activity schedules to reduce stress and help them feel at ease. Consistency makes all the difference—pets thrive on familiarity and structure. 2. Lean on Written Schedules & Reminders I rely on alarms, digital reminders, or a shared care document outlining feeding times, walks, and medication schedules. Detailed care plans—not just verbal instructions—help ensure nothing is overlooked. 3. Balance Walks, Play, and Mental Stimulation Your pup will enjoy walks in the morning and evening, play sessions in the yard or with toys, and brain games like puzzles or training drills. This balanced mix keeps pets physically active and mentally engaged, which is a hallmark of personalized, attentive care. 4. Clear Communication with Owners I provide updates via text, photos, or videos—tailored to your preference. Whether you'd like a daily summary or only updates if something important comes up, I'll make sure our communication fits what works best for you. Clear, consistent updates help build trust and peace of mind.

To ensure your pet’s comfort, safety, and happiness, I’d love to learn the following before we begin: Routine & Schedule Your pet’s daily feeding, walking, potty, and nap times—consistency keeps them calm and confident. Any special cues or commands they respond to. Health & Medical Info Are they up to date on vaccines and flea/heartworm prevention? Any medications, allergies, or dietary restrictions I should know about? How and when should these be administered? Behavior & Personality Any quirks or triggers (e.g. fear of vacuums, issues with strangers or other pets)? Their comfort level with new environments, dogs, or people. If they have a bite history or guard resources like food or toys. Comfort & Belongings Favorite toys, comfort objects, or routines that help them settle in. Any areas of the home that are off-limits or comfort zones we should respect. Leaving familiar bedding, toys, or even your worn clothing can reduce stress. Emergency Preparedness Vet and emergency contact info, including backup contacts in case you're unreachable. Your preferred actions in the event of a health or behavioral emergency. Home Access & Environment (For In-Home Care) How to access your home: key, lockbox, or alarm codes. Any house rules (e.g., security system, plants to avoid, cleaning supplies location, or mail collection). Expectations During the Meet & Greet I encourage a Meet & Greet—it’s a great chance to connect, ask questions, and ensure we're a perfect fit. This helps everything go smoothly from day one.
