Most of my friends are dogs.
I've been a dog walker, dog sitter, dog hiker, dog jogger, and dog owner nearly my whole life. Pet care isn't just a job to me, it's a friendship. My dog clients are a big part of my life, and I'm genuinely happy to see them. As I get to know a dog, I give them more of what they need and like. I work with them to build leash and walking skills. I observe their behavior carefully to try to understand what they're thinking and feeling. I care for them like they're my own. I'm a kind, calm, loving, disciplined person with a good head on my shoulders and a soothing disposition, and my goal is to be a positive part of the life of every dog I meet. I'm still in touch with many of my old dog friends from my hometown in Alaska, and I see them whenever I visit.

Safety, trust & environment
I'm a very affectionate pet friend, but I always watch for cues to see how an animal is feeling. I want them to be happy and assured, so if they seem like they need something different than they're getting, I'll change it up to try and help them. Some dogs especially can become very anxious and insecure when their people are gone, and I'll put the time in to show them they're still safe and loved until their proper people come home!

Owen was great with our puppy.
Owen was fantastic with Rocky! Very good communication and sent me photos of Rocky through my trip. Owen stayed over night and made a point to do a load of laundry as well before leaving to ensure my things were clean when I arrived home. Rocky was a tired and happy boy upon my arrival! I would 100% use Owen again and recommend him to anyone.

Owen has taken care of our senior cat twice now, and was great at communicating about how he was doing (we have a finicky eater) and administering pills. We would book with him again!
Owen took great care of our dog during the sit that we set up last minute. He kept us informed throughout, and administered medication that our dog needed. They always have a great time together!
Owen did a great job of sitting our dog overnight at our condo. It was our first time having a sitter take care of our dog at the condo, and we were away for multiple nights. Owen followed the feeding, care, and walking instructions well, and our dog warmed up to him pretty quickly. He was flexible with start / end times and accommodating of our travel schedule. He was also good at communicating on any questions he had, or whenever we needed an update. We recommend and will hire Owen again for our future dog sitting needs, thank you!

Schedule
I only sit one household at a time. You would be surprised how many people book multiple sits to make more money, even though this inevitably means your pets will be left alone for long periods of time and may get almost no contact in between. Honestly, Rover should take more responsibility in that regard. In any case I'll never take another sit if I've booked with you unless you explicitly allow it. That's why I charge more!

- I always meet dogs before I sit them, but I've never rejected a dog I've met yet. I've taken care of dogs with severe anxiety, aggression problems, health problems, developmental disabilities, and dogs which require regular medication.
