Safety, trust & environment

I personally have a fenced in backyard; however, I have experience walking multiple dogs at a time and handling dogs safely in open environments. I make intentional points to always be attentive to dogs regardless if they are fenced in or not. When I am caring for someone else’s dog, or my own, I make sure their safety is guaranteed. This is a skill I have sharpened since owning a fear reactive dog and caring for multiple dogs on a daily basis.

Information Olivia M. would like to know about your pet

I would like to know your dogs temperament, their friendliness with other dogs and people, the basic skills they already possess, and any fun things about them! I have experience with training my own personal dog which has harbored much success; however, I acknowledge every dog is different. This means that with the proper information, I am willing to work with any dogs and find out the best methods that work for their care whether you want walks, check-ins, short, informal training sessions, or anything else! All of my interactions with dogs in a training aspect are solely based on positive reinforcement techniques and research. So, to your dog, they can see me as a positive, treat dispensing friend!

A typical day

I enjoy finding a variety of activities to do with dogs that can include physical and mental stimulation. To me, exercising your dog is not only about walking or playing fetch. Ex.: I like to play "find it" with my dog by using a portion of his daily meal. This is a type of searching game for dogs that is mentally stimulating and sharpens their scent work. Additionally, I meet dogs where they are basic obedience wise and take time to work on basic skills. This is another mental stimulation game in which the dogs works for their food and sharpens their brain while also being tiring for them!

Pet care experience

I have experience taking care of both dogs and cats from two different boarding facilities, one larger and one smaller, personalized facility! I currently work as a groomer. In addition, I have both volunteered time at the local senior dog rescue, Grey Face 🤍 while also fostering multiple dogs over time. I work with dogs on a daily basis all ranging from walks, training exercises, enrichment, grooming and nail maintenance, etc.. Please ask about any services I may be able to provide! My personal dog is the contributor to much of my experience as well. I have knowledge in training behaviorally challenged dogs with behaviors specifically focused on separation anxiety, human reactivity, bite risk/management, dog reactivity, and basic fear and anxiety in dogs. To me, a happy dog is one not only one that can play to their hearts content but one that also is allowed the time for mental enrichment through interactive toys, positive reinforcement training, routines, satisfying walks, and through games involving food and treats all of which I have learned through my own research and enrollment in online instructions. I would be happy to care for your pets and provide them with the most enriching time possible.

Olivia is amazing! She stepped in and helped us out when our scheduled dog sitter had to cancel with short notice due to a funeral. She met all my floofy goofs needs and went above and beyond to make sure they got affection, stimulation, and bathroom breaks during her drop in visits. She sent lots of pictures and clear and detailed reports. I look forward to rebooking with her in the future!
