I would not recommend this sitter as our experience appalling and she seems dishonest. As soon as we booked the sitter, her replies to our quiries dwindled. This was my first suspected red flag. We had booked our beloved family cat to stay with her from 10:30am Friday to 10:30am Sunday. However, then on the day of the booking the sitter decided an hour before drop off time to declare she wouldn’t be in till after 3pm. Luckily we wasn’t going on holiday or anything so we just accepted and offered to change the times to 4pm Friday to 4pm Sunday. This was actually the second red flag. The sitter also states on her profile that she only has 1 pet, which was another cat and we just thought it would be nice for our cat to meet another cat. However when we turned up the sitter actually had 15 other cats and also a parrot and its fair to say this quite misleading. This was the third red flag, however, we tried not to be judgemental so we sat down with her to try and grasp how she is a person. However, within 2 minutes of letting our cat out of the cat carrier we noticed he was walking in parrot poop which was all over the floor. This was the fourth red flag and this really should have been the final straw. However, my wife was tryng her best to not judge her so we decided to leave him for the night. I then noticed that the sitter wasn’t responding to any messages for several hours and we was also promised photos and never received them. The next morning I just had a gut feeling something wasn’t right so I tried to phone the sitter and she never answered. As I couldn’t get through, I drove to her home around 9am which is hardly early on a Saturday morning. Cats wakes up early anyway so I knew ours would be awake. However, when I got there not only was there no answer on her phone, the sitter wasn’t answering the door. Now up until to this point the sitter had hardly been responding to messages, but once I messaged and said I am outside the sitter then immediately replied and then sent a photo of him sat in the corner of the room. However, by this point everything in my gut was telling me to take him home so I texted her back stating that I am outsideand I was taking him home so please put him in his carrier. As the sitter didn’t have time to clean up I got to see the real conditions the 15 cats and my cat were living in and it was appalling. When the sitter opened the door there was cat poop and wee all over the sitter hallway and the smell was atrocious. When I finally got him home we had to shower him and disinfect his carrier and our cat seems quite and timid. He is finally coming around now but I would certainly not be leaving our cat with her again or recommend anyone else to leave their cat. I do believe she loves cats, however, the sitter seems to be struggling to look after the 15 cats and the 1 parrot that she already so I suspect what she had done was just lock our cat in a room for the night and leave him alone, but that is not what we wanted or paid for. All in all I would strongly advise against booking this sitter. I also truly believe that she should be honest on her profile about the other 15 cats and 1 parrot she has, instead of lying and stating she only has 1 cat.
