I am currently taking a small hiatus from my nursing career so my availability is open at the moment. I am available on weekdays or weekends. Afternoons are preferred, but I don't have a set strict schedule and can be pretty flexible.

I recently moved into a house where my dog finally has her first own backyard which has been such a joy to watch! I love basking outside in the sun with her and never leave her unattended. Around the house, she has plenty of spaces to cozy up and make her own. Whether it's walking in the neighborhood or staying around the house, I am always on high alert and aware of my surroundings. The same thing would apply for anyone else's pet whether it's in my home or the comfort of their own.

I would prefer to know any specific quirks or behaviors your pet has to ensure safety and comfort. For example, any triggers, noises/movements to avoid, or if they have something they really love that gets them excited too!
A typical day
I would cater to the specific pet and tailor to their needs! I'm big on making sure dogs have both mental and physical stimulation by giving them the appropriate sniff time on walks, playing with their favorite toys, or just simply relaxing.

Pet care experience
I grew up with dogs since I was a kid- everything from German Shepherds and Great Danes to chihuahuas! While I don't have any formal training or education, I have always been around animals and learned a lot through personal experience. My husband and I rescued our five year old chihuahua from a rescue agency in West Virginia and it was one of the best decisions we have ever made. It taught me a lot about the dedication, love, and patience it requires to make a rescue feel safe and comfortable. She is currently the only pet I have, but my family also has two chihuahuas so it's always fun to get them all together! I also have experience taking care of sick/elderly dogs. I lost my soul dog last year who suffered from heart failure and required nearly 24/7 care. I am a registered nurse with a background in cardiology, so it really hit home for me. Anyone that knows me knows my unwavering love for animals, especially dogs!
