I feel I can be myself around animals. I’m able to approach each animal as an individual, and figure out what makes them tick! As a child, I always gravitated toward animals. It led to me completing training certificates in Kitten & Cat Care (SPCA, New Zealand), Animal Protection Movement (Humane Society, New York), and, Introduction to Animal Advocacy (Animal Advocacy Careers, online). I’m passionate about seeing laws changed for the welfare of animals. But it’s been through having a close relationship with sphynx cats - hobby breeding, hand-rearing newborn kittens, neonatal kitten care, ongoing medical needs - that I’ve been challenged and evolved to understand animals on a soul level, I believe. They have taught me to be a more attuned, compassionate and knowledgeable pet carer. I choose to give myself fully when I’m on a Rover visit or walk. I derive joy from seeing these sweet creatures look healthy and content. And while I find an instant connection with most animals, it can take a little longer to warm up to some animals that have a past, but over time we find our groove. I’m adept with following instruction (you may leave as many instructions as you like!) and assertive when seeing things that need to be done or addressed. Communication is key in any relationship for me, so I can keep in constant contact with you - and provide photos and videos, of course!
