Calm Care. One Household at a Time

I came to Las Vegas from New York City and eventually made Summerlin home. Wherever I’ve lived, dogs and cats have always been part of my life. Over the years, I’ve learned that every pet is different. Some want to play all day. Some need a little patience before they trust you. Others are happiest when you simply respect the routine they already know. I’m comfortable caring for puppies, seniors, shy or anxious pets, and pets with detailed feeding schedules, oral medications, or special routines. I accept pets from only one household at a time, so your dog or cat is never mixed into a high-volume boarding environment. That allows me to give them real individual attention and keep their routine as familiar as possible. I’ve earned 36 five-star reviews on Rover, but what matters even more to me is the trust behind those reviews. Families regularly leave me responsible not only for their pets, but during house-sitting stays, for access to their homes as well. That’s a responsibility I never take lightly.

House Sitting • May 02, 2026

I have just returned from Asia after Numa and his lovely family sat my two boys and stayed at my house for 10 days. Having never used a sitter before, I must say i was really reluctant to do so. Numa agreed to look after my bulldogs whilst I was in Japan and Hong Kong. The weekend prior to leaving, I sent Numa an email detailing everything about my gated community, house and, of course, the boys. Numa and Madeleine arrived on the day I was leaving with an extensive check list they had put together, to ensure everyone was comfortable and happy. It made me feel really content - i could instantly see how detailed, caring and thorough they were. In addition, when we did the initial meet and greet one of my boys Archie (who is a typical English bulldog and can be a bit rambunctious when first meeting someone) jumped up and scratched Numa. After we agreed to Numa sitting the boys, he even offered to pick them up prior to my going away and take them to get their nails trimmed - what a lovely gesture (I of course took care of this, but it showed the detail and care he and Madeleine went to prior and during staying at my house). They provided me with daily updates, photos and videos. In every one of them i could tell how happy my boys were - frankly having been back only a few hours I think the boys are rather disappointed it was me coming through the door! This morning I found one of the dogs lying in the room they slept in! I reckon that's their own 5 star rating! Numa and Madeleine are people of the highest integrity, and I could tell how important it was for them that I was comfortable. I can honestly say whilst i was away i had absolutely zero concerns as i knew my boys were being loved and cared for, probably better than I do! It made my important trip all the much easier. I wanted to leave this review as, if like me you needed assistance to look after your dogs but were worried, YOU SHOULD PICK NUMA AND HIS WIFE EVERY TIME! MY only hesitation in leaving this review is that more people want to work with Numa and Madeleine and it might mean they cant take care of Archie and Gus when i next travel :-) Oh and one other thing, when i arrived last night, my house was as clean and tidy as its ever been and Madeleine communicated all the logistics of her departure. I simply couldn't be happier that I met them and would work with them without hesitation! They are welcome at my place any time.

Numa and his family treated Calvin like family. When I picked Calvin up, he was happy, he was clean, and he was well fed. I would absolutely have Noah and his family sit Calvin again.

Numa and fam were great! Very responsive and helped keep me at ease leaving my fur baby with them. Clean home and neighborhood and they took very good care of my doggo. Will definitely be back when in the area again!

Schedule

Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine because I work from home and live near several beautiful walking areas in Summerlin. Walking and staying active are already an important part of my day, and I enjoy including the dogs in my care whenever it is appropriate for their age, health, energy level, and normal routine. One of my favorite routes follows The Arbors Paseo between Arbors Tennis & Play Park and Tree Top Park—a peaceful, landscaped walk of approximately 0.75 miles each way. Walks are always adapted to each dog. Some enjoy completing the full route, while puppies, seniors, and lower-energy dogs may prefer a shorter walk or relaxed outdoor time closer to home. Because Las Vegas temperatures can change quickly, I schedule walks during comfortable conditions and adjust the duration, surface, and activity level to keep every dog safe. Between walks, pets receive supervised yard breaks, playtime, enrichment, affection, and plenty of opportunity to rest while following the routine they are accustomed to at home.

Safety, trust & environment

Whether your pet stays in my home or I care for them in yours, their safety, comfort, and normal routine come first. In my home, pets stay in a calm, clean, non-smoking environment with a securely fenced yard. Outdoor time is supervised, and I follow each family’s instructions carefully, including feeding, medications, walks, sleeping routines, and any special care. I accept pets from only one household at a time. That means your dog or cat is never mixed with unfamiliar pets from other families, and I can give them the individual attention they need. I never force interaction or activities a pet isn’t comfortable with. Puppies, seniors, shy or anxious pets, and pets with special routines are cared for according to their personality, age, and needs. When I’m caring for pets in a client’s home, I understand that I’m being trusted with much more than a set of keys. I respect your privacy, keep the home clean and secure, follow access and alarm instructions carefully, and communicate clearly throughout the stay. When requested, I can also handle packages, trash days, and scheduled access for cleaners, pool service, or landscaping, so you have fewer things to manage while you’re away. You’ll receive regular photo and video updates through Rover, so you can see how your pet is doing without having to wonder.

A typical day

Every pet has a different idea of a perfect day, so I adapt activities to their personality, age, energy level, and normal routine. For dogs who enjoy walking, the day may include a peaceful neighborhood walk or time along The Arbors Paseo near Tree Top Park. More active dogs may enjoy a longer outing when the weather is comfortable, while puppies, seniors, and lower-energy dogs get shorter walks, supervised yard time, and gentler activities. Back at home, there’s time for play, enrichment, affection, and plenty of rest. I never believe a dog needs to be entertained every minute of the day—sometimes the best sign that they’re comfortable is seeing them settle down and relax. Cats usually prefer a quieter rhythm: meals and litter care on schedule, interactive play when they’re interested, comfortable places to relax, and space when they want it. You’ll receive photos and videos through Rover during the day, so you can see what your pet has been up to and how they’re settling in. Whether your pet loves activity or prefers a peaceful day, the goal is the same: for them to feel comfortable enough to enjoy their time with me.

Tell me what your pet is really like—not just what appears on their Rover profile. I’d like to know their normal routine, feeding and sleeping schedule, personality, energy level, medications, allergies, health needs, fears, triggers, and the things they genuinely enjoy. Please also tell me how they respond to new people and environments, and whether there’s any history of separation anxiety, escape attempts, resource guarding, reactivity, or accidents indoors. For dogs, it’s also helpful to know how they behave on walks and whether they use any special equipment. There are no “bad” answers. I’d much rather know something ahead of time than be surprised by it later. The more I know, the better I can decide whether we’re a good match and prepare for a safe, comfortable stay. Before a first booking, I review the care instructions carefully and ask any questions needed so we both know exactly what to expect.
Each sitter joining Rover needs to pass a background check. And by booking on Rover, you can get photo & message updates, 24/7 support, and reimbursement for eligible vet care.
