I’ve grown up around animals my whole life and have been pet sitting, house sitting, and helping care for pets for about 8 years through high school and undergrad. My family always had multiple dogs ranging from tiny breeds to large dogs with very different personalities and needs, and I currently have a cat of my own, so I’m very comfortable caring for both dogs and cats. Also, I’m comfortable with pets of all sizes, breeds, and temperaments, including puppies, senior pets, anxious animals, and pets who need medication or extra patience and attention. Two of our family dogs lived into their senior years and needed more involved care, and I’ve also cared for pets with anxiety and behavioral challenges, including a family dog who was prescribed medication and my own very shy and anxious cat. My aunt has owned a grooming shop for as long as I can remember, so I’ve spent years helping around and being comfortable with dogs of all kinds. What sets me apart is that I genuinely spend real time with the pets I care for. Even when owners tell me a quick check-in is okay, I usually stay longer to play, walk, or just keep them company because I really enjoy it. I’m very detail-oriented and good at following routines, and I know how important communication is when someone else is caring for your pet, so I’m always happy to send updates and photos. I truly treat every animal like they’re my own. Growing up with dogs definitely spoiled me, and I honestly miss constantly having them around, so I happily take any excuse to spend time with them again!
