I’ll be starting my first year of veterinary school soon, so my exact class schedule is not set yet. I expect to have the most flexibility in the afternoons and evenings, and I’ll plan my pet care schedule around my classes. My veterinary school schedule may vary from day to day, but I’m committed to being reliable and communicating clearly about my availability. I’ll also have flexibility on weekends and will do my best to accommodate your pet’s needs and routine.

Safety, trust & environment

I prioritize trust and keeping each pet’s routine as consistent as possible. For overnight stays, I provide a calm, comfortable environment and make sure pets receive plenty of attention, exercise, and supervision. For drop-in visits and walks, I follow each pet’s individual routine and instructions, including feeding, medications, bathroom breaks, and exercise needs. With four years of veterinary clinic and dog daycare experience, along with my current veterinary education, I’m comfortable recognizing changes in behavior or health and handling a variety of personalities and needs. I also have experience with dogs who may be reactive or aggressive toward other dogs, so I take introductions, walks, and environmental safety seriously. My goal is for every pet to feel safe and cared for while their owner is away.

Information Nora H. would like to know about your pet

I’d love to know as much as possible about your pet’s normal routine, personality, and any specific needs before their stay. Important things to know include their feeding and bathroom schedule, exercise needs, medications or medical conditions, allergies, fears or triggers, and how they interact with other animals or people. For dogs especially, I’d like to know about any reactivity, aggression, or behaviors I should be aware of so I can plan walks and activities safely. I’d also appreciate knowing their favorite toys, treats, activities, and anything that helps them feel comfortable and at home. The more I know ahead of time, the better I can provide personalized care and make sure your pet has a safe and positive experience!

A typical day

I’ll always tailor activities to each pet’s personality, energy level, and comfort. Some pets want to run and play, while others are happiest getting some extra cuddles and relaxing next to you. My goal is to make sure every pet has fun and feels loved while their owners are away!

Pet care experience

I have a Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science and four years of hands-on experience working in both a veterinary clinic and a dog kennel/daycare. I’m currently a first-year veterinary student at Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine, continuing to build my knowledge and skills in animal health and behavior. I’m comfortable administering medications, including injectable medications such as insulin, and have experience caring for dogs with behavioral challenges, including dog-aggressive dogs. My own dog has these challenges, so I understand the importance of patience, proper handling, and creating a safe environment for every pet. I also have experience caring for a variety of animals, as I have a dog and cat of my own. I’m passionate about providing pets with the same attentive, compassionate care I would want for my own.

Nora took care of my senior cat, Cookie, many times over several years and was always wonderful with her. Cookie had medical concerns and needed liquid medicine by mouth twice per day which Nora administered with no issue. Nora was a great sport with picky cat preferences for which bowls food and water had to go in and made sure that Cookie had what she needed. Nora was always warm, trustworthy, reliable, responsible, and a true pet lover. Cookie was comfortable with Nora right away and would snuggle and play with no issue. Nora sent photos and kept in communication providing frequent updates. I completely trust Nora and would recommend with zero hesitation.

Nora is someone I would trust completely with my dogs, cats, and just about any other animal. She is caring, responsible, attentive, and genuinely loves animals. She understands that every dog and cat has their own personality, routine, and needs, and she takes the time to make each pet feel comfortable and cared for. Nora is patient, gentle, and reliable, and pays attention to the little things that matter, whether it’s making sure a dog gets enough exercise and attention or giving a cat the space and care they need. She also has experience caring for many other animals, including rabbits, guinea pigs, ducks, goats, and horses. Her broad experience and genuine love for animals make her someone I would feel completely comfortable trusting with any pet.
