We booked Noemy for four nights of house sitting, September 3–7, with written instructions that our dog Lola not be left alone for more than 3–4 hours at a time. That instruction was the whole reason we booked in-home overnight care instead of drop-in visits. Our smart lock records, matched against camera footage, show Lola was alone 10 hr 31 min on Friday, 7 hr 14 min on Saturday, and 8 hr 49 min on Sunday — about 26 and a half hours across the three full days of the stay, with no one stopping by in between. Noemy did sleep at the house, but she was gone most of every day and never told us she was leaving or asked if it was okay. To her credit: when I brought her the records, she acknowledged it right away and took responsibility. Rover refunded the booking in full. Lola is fine and the resolution was fair, so I thought about not writing this. I'm posting it because the limit we set was specific, it was in writing before the booking was accepted, and it wasn't followed on any full day of the stay. If you're booking overnight care because your dog can't be alone for long stretches, confirm that clearly before you book.

Noemy took great care of our fur baby while we were away for 5 days. She is responsible, responsive and a reliable person.
