I intentionally plan my daily and weekly schedule around pet care, making time for walks, feedings, and play. Staying active is already part of my routine, so caring for pets fits naturally and allows me to give them consistent, reliable attention.

For dogs especially, it helps to know if they have any triggers, fears, or behavioral quirks, as well as what commands they know and what motivates them (treats, toys, praise). I also ask about house rules, emergency vet information, and anything that helps your pet feel comfortable and safe in a new environment.
