Hey everyone!🐾 My name is Niveya and I’m currently a graduate student and basketball player at Saint Mary’s College, and I’ve been around animals for as long as I can remember. I grew up with two cats (a tortie and a domestic longhair) and several dogs (from poodles to pitbulls) over the years, so caring for both cats and dogs has always been a part of my life. Growing up, I also volunteered at local dog shelters, which taught me that every animal has a different personality. Some are energetic and playful, while others just need a little patience and time to feel comfortable. Friends and family have trusted me to care for their pets over the years, and I’ve found that animals usually warm up to me because I stay calm and let them adjust at their own pace. Being a student-athlete has made responsibility, reliability, and consistency a huge part of my everyday life. Between balancing graduate school and basketball, I’ve learned how important it is to be dependable and communicate well. Whether your pet loves long walks, playing fetch, cuddling on the couch, or just sticking to their normal routine, my goal is to make them feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you’re away. Because of my basketball schedule, I’m typically on campus during weekday mornings and parts of the afternoon, but I’m available throughout the late afternoons, evenings, and all weekend. I carefully follow each owner’s instructions, including feeding schedules, medications, exercise, and any special routines. I’ll also send plenty of updates and photos (if you’d like!) so you can relax knowing your pet is in good hands😊
