At the age of 5, I was gifted a 2-day old lamb from a neighbor which I bottle-fed and raised. From then on, I helped with all the animal chores--from my lamb and kitten to our calves. From the age of 19 on, I've always had at least 2 dogs in my care, and oftentimes a cat or two. When word got out with friends and acquaintances that I could be counted on to care for homeless pets, I'd have up to 5 dogs at a time. The dogs I have lived with and nurtured have ranged from tiny chihuahuas to gigantic mastiffs. I've seen numerous dogs and cats from babyhood to their last moments, all the while loving and caring for them. Since I've worked with so many types and sizes of animals (including horses) I am skilled at dispensing medications, feeding, grooming, and walking. I currently have 2 dogs: Hugo, a Belgian Malinois, and Bowie, a red heeler. Both are extremely high-energy dogs. I've raised Hugo from a 5-week old pup who is now 5 years old. Bowie was dumped in my neighborhood when he was 4 months old. I couldn't bear to leave him with animal control so I brought him home. He is now a happy and healthy 2-year-old. You can be sure that I'll treat your pet as my own with the love and care they deserve.
