Dog Trainer, Owner, and Advocate

Hello! I’m Nikki, I’m a passionate dog lover, professional dog trainer, and lifelong animal advocate. I’ve been around dogs my entire life and have hands-on experience with everything from training to rescuing. I currently own an American Pit / Treeing Walker Coonhound Mix - Brody - (who's named after my favorite movie, can you guess the film?) and have worked with a variety of breeds through my career and volunteer experiences. In addition to over 10 years of experience with dog training and rescue, I worked professionally as a dog trainer at Sit Means Sit until an injury temporarily shifted my focus. Now, I continue training dogs on the side and am working toward making it my full-time career—dogs are truly my passion! I’m comfortable with almost all breeds, personalities, and training needs, including special behavioral requirements. With my own pup being a regular at the dermatologist, I’m even experienced in administering allergy injections at home for pets who need them. Whether you have a high-energy dog who needs some guidance or a more low-key pup in need of TLC, I’m here to provide the best care possible. Beyond dogs, I also have experience with cats, small animals (like guinea pigs, rabbits, and hamsters), and even fish. I’m all about making sure your pets feel safe, loved, and well-cared for while you’re away. I’d love to take care of your pets—whether it’s through dog walking, sitting, or even training while you're gone. You can trust that your pets will be in great hands and have the best time in my care! 🐾 (PS: Want to check my availability before sending a message? Take a look at my schedule section to see if I’m open for new clients this month!)

Safety, trust & environment

Your pet’s safety and well-being are my top priorities. As a professional dog trainer with extensive experience working with various breeds and temperaments, I understand the importance of maintaining a safe and structured environment for your pets. I am also highly organized and detail-oriented—if you provide me with a list of instructions, rest assured, it will be followed to the letter. While I don’t offer overnight stays at my home, I am more than happy to stay in your home, where your pet will be most comfortable. I have cared for pets in their own environments many times before, and I always ensure they have a stress-free, positive experience while you’re away. In addition, I’m currently planning to take an official Canine First Aid and CPR course to further enhance my ability to respond to any emergency situations that might arise. You can trust that your pets are in good hands with me. I treat every pet as if they were my own, ensuring they are not only safe and comfortable but also mentally and physically engaged. I believe in building a relationship of trust with both you and your pets, so you can feel confident and at ease while you’re away.

Nikki did a wonderful job pet sitting for our dog and cat. She maintained great communication including daily updates with photos which I really appreciated. My dog and cat both take medication and have some quirks and she dealt with all of it with confidence. My house was just how I left it when I returned, she even washed the towels and sheets! I felt very comfortable leaving my babies with her and will definitely be using her again in the future.

To ensure I’m providing the best care possible, I’d love to learn a bit more about your dog before we get started. Here are a few things I’d appreciate knowing: Dietary Needs & Restrictions: Does your dog have any food allergies, sensitivities, or specific dietary restrictions? I want to make sure I’m giving them treats and snacks that are safe and aligned with their needs, so let me know what they can and can’t have! Toys & Treats: What’s your dog’s favorite toy? Do they have a special snack they can’t resist? Whether it’s a squeaky ball or a specific treat, knowing what makes them happy will help me spoil them just right! Personality & Quirks: Every dog is unique, so I want to know about any little quirks or behaviors. Is your dog a velcro pup who follows you everywhere, or do they prefer their personal space? Maybe they have a not-so-secret vendetta against Yorkies or they tend to chase after kids on scooters? Let me know if there’s anything that might surprise me so I can be fully prepared. Training Goals: If you have any specific training goals, let me know! I’m always happy to work on any behavior challenges, whether it’s building confidence, reinforcing commands, or just helping your dog become the best walking companion. If there's something you’ve been wanting to work on, we can tackle it together. In-Person Meeting: I always do an in-person meet-and-greet before confirming any booking. It gives us a chance to chat about everything, allows me to meet you and your dog, and makes sure we're all on the same page. It’s also my way of making sure I’m the right fit for your pet. If I don’t feel I can meet your dog’s needs to your standards, I’ll be upfront and let you know. The goal is to always provide the best care possible! I’m all about taking the time to get to know your pet and making sure they’re well cared for in a way that aligns with your expectations. Looking forward to getting to know your dog and making sure their time with me is fun, safe, and stress-free!
