Pet care experience

Type A Cat Sitter for Type A People

I have two cats of my own and know the anxiety that comes with trusting your cat with someone else. I grew up with exotic pets all my life (birds, rabbits) and once I moved on my own, I knew cats were the right fit for me. I'm a detail-oriented, Type A person in everything I do, and my cat care is no exception. I've watched friends' cats and been referred to people they know, and I find it deeply rewarding to get to bond with new cats and watch them slowly realize that I'm there to be a friend. When you book with me, we'll go over your cat's medical history, your preferred vet, and your preferred emergency vet. I want to make sure we have a Plan A, Plan B, and a Plan C so you can enjoy your time away from home without worry. I have so far administered medication in food, as well as an inhaler for my own cat's asthma. To my vet's delight, I brush my cats' teeth, and if you do as well, I'm happy to see if I can get your cat to trust me enough to try. Simply put, I'm cat-obsessed, detail-oriented, and take notes when you tell me about your cat.

Safety, trust & environment

I like to spend some time existing in your space without trying to engage with your cat. For instance, I've found that calling someone and chatting for a few minutes can help your cat learn my voice and realize that I'm not a threat. I usually start with the litter box once it's been a few minutes, and go for food when I feel like your cat is more comfortable and confident. If you have pet cameras, that's fine! I'll send at least photos of your cat whenever I visit with a short update of what they've been up to. We'll go over any behaviors I should watch out for, and what's normal for your cat.

Nikita was wonderful with our two cats. She took good care of them, making sure they were fed and played with, and that their litter boxes were cleaned. She provided timely and thorough updates, which included photos and information about their behavior and demeanor. She is very professional and willing to help us when asked. Thank you, Nikita!

Absolutely amazing sitter. Always on time, updated me throughly as requested, sent me tons of pics of my fur babies. Looked after them like one of her own. I had no worries while I was on vacation. Will be requesting her services in the future

Schedule

I currently have a flexible job, so I can shuffle around my schedule with some advanced notice! I can check in on your cats up to twice a day. However, I do limit my overall bookings to make sure I'm giving each cat the quality of care they deserve.

Cats
Nikita can host up to 2 drop-ins per day
Cat owners know that cats are experts at hiding pain and discomfort. Let me know what subtle signs I should keep an eye on, and what you think is normal when you're away. Does your cat usually hide under the bed when you're gone, or do they only do that when they're not feeling well? What's their litter box behavior like when you're here, and when you're gone? What's normal for them when their routine is disrupted, and what isn't normal? We'll also talk about the fun stuff - are there any treats that you can have available for me to win them over? Do they like playing, and what type of play do they like? What are their little quirks and habits?
Each sitter joining Rover needs to pass a background check. And by booking on Rover, you can get photo & message updates, 24/7 support, and reimbursement for eligible vet care.
