I (Niki) have been passionate about animals my entire life. I grew up with a miniature goldendoodle and my partner Zach and I currently have a mixed breed sweet girl named Alise, who was adopted from an animal shelter. We would love the opportunity to meet your furry friend! We do not have any breed preference and have experience with all sizes, even Great Danes and Mastiffs! Each pet in our care will be provided with individual attention, accommodating for special needs when necessary (medication, specific food instruction, etc). I love learning the different personalities of each animal and what their favorite things are (bellyrubs, frisbees, tennis balls, ear scratches). If your dog loves walks and lots of petting and play, then I think we will be the perfect match! I always insist on a Meet & Greet for new clients (if it’s possible) to ensure everyone is happy and comfortable, including the animals. Niki and Zach made us feel totally confident leaving our girl Dolly with them. We were vacationing and took a long kayak trip. We needed a full day for our dog. They sent us pictures during the day and you could see how relaxed our dog was. Communication was great and pick up was sweet. They are the best❤️ we are so grateful
We needed a dog sitter for our two dogs that were traveling with us for a day of kayaking in the Apostle Islands. They were easy to work with on schedule and arrangements and took great care with our 14YO senior dog and our 18MO high-energy pup.
They were amazing! My dog had a great time and they even sent update photos! She felt right at home and didn’t even look back when we left she was so excited to play with their dog and explore the nature!
This was my first time using Rover, hesitant in the past leaving my fur baby with a stranger. I am glad I tried it as this was a terrific experience. From the initial contact, to a reminder message the day before to the nice greeting when we arrived. She asked good questions, introduced my pup to hers and I felt at ease. She distracted my pup by taking him off for a walk as we were leaving, he has separation anxiety. But today off he walked. Mid-day I received an update that he was doing great, with photos. When I arrived 12 hours later to pick him up he came running and all was right with the world! This was a perfect experience. If you are ever remotely nearby Ashland, WI and need a pet sitter don't hesitate to use Niki and Zach. I know we will be back in the area next year and I will definitely use them again.

Schedule
Our schedule is very flexible and we are open to providing pet care every day of the week. I will keep our availability calendar up to date to always display our availability accurately.

Safety, trust & environment
My partner Zach and I live on 30 acres, so dogs have plenty of space to run around and explore! We spend a lot of time outside gardening and chopping firewood, so dogs will get lots of fresh air and stimulation. There is also a nice comfy couch in front of the wood stove, making for a perfect cozy nap spot for cats or dogs. At client’s homes, we will follow the provided care instructions and make sure all needs are met, with bonus pets and play of course. We will use our experience to make judgement calls when unplanned things arise, and keep an open communication line with the client. I always provide photos and detailed written updates to the client as well so they stay informed and up to date with their pet’s care.

A typical day
When we are caring for dogs, they are always smothered with pets and lots of love! We will always provide walks, time outside, pets, and play to provide stimulation and fun. I like to do short command sessions with dogs to keep them engaged and satisfied (sit, stay, lay down, come) and they always seem to love it!
