What sets me apart from other sitters is the patience and genuine care I have for every animal I meet. I’m gentle with pets of all ages, personalities, and abilities, and I’m never afraid to get down on the floor and take the time to earn their trust, especially with shy, nervous, senior, or special-needs pets. I’ve rescued and cared for animals in some pretty challenging situations, including dogs on the streets experiencing severe heat stroke and emergencies during Southeast Missouri’s extreme weather. I’ve also fostered kittens who were sick and needed extra care, patience, and nurturing before they were healthy enough to be adopted. I’ve always had a dog since the day I was born. I started raising my own dogs since I was about 9 years old, and I’ve been involved in house training, crate training, maintaining daily routines, and administering medications according to their prescribed instructions and labels. I’m comfortable following detailed care instructions and making sure pets stay on their normal schedules while their owners are away. I’m also a clean freak, and I believe taking care of your home is part of taking care of your pets. I’ve personally experienced coming home to dirty litter boxes, pet vomit, stains, and messes that weren’t cleaned up after previous sitters. That’s something I never want a pet owner to experience. If your pet makes a mess, I clean it up. I’ll keep litter boxes maintained, clean up accidents, vomit, tracked-in dirt, and other everyday pet messes, and leave your home the way I found it, or better. To me, pet sitting isn’t just about making sure a pet is fed and let outside. It’s about making them feel safe, comfortable, loved, and understood while their person is away. I treat every pet as an individual and take the time to learn their routines, quirks, and what makes them feel most at home. Animals deserve the world in the short time we get with them, and I want to make sure I give them that.
