Safety is priority number 1! I will always defer to whatever you and your pet are most comfortable with, be it crated while away (we can even play crate games if they're nervous about it), loose in a bedroom, of free roaming. You know your pet the best and what is going to ease their stress the most while you're gone!
Information Nicole M. would like to know about your pet
No size or breed restrictions here! Some things I would love to know about your dog(s) are how they feel about strangers and resources. Is your pooch protective over treats or toys? If you have multiple pets, do they need to be fed separately to avoid any disagreements or food stealing? Is your dog reactive on walks (meaning jumping, lunging, barking)? While absolutely none of these issues are deal breakers (I have successfully dealt with each and every one of them in some capacity) it is super helpful to know beforehand! I would also love to know anything you think would be beneficial for me to do while you're away to make their stay as easy as possible.
A typical day
Having worked with many reactive dogs, I prefer quiet, low traffic trails to give dogs the time to decompress, sniff, dig, and just be a dog. I have found that a 10 minute training session (using positive reinforcement based methods only), paired with a 15 minute walk or run is the perfect thing to tire out even the most energetic of pups.

Pet care experience
I am an avid animal lover looking to spend quality time with your beloved pets, giving them all the love and attention they'll miss while you're away! In addition to my work on Rover, I run my own business, Happy Hound Dog Training, where I offer specialized dog training programs and in-home enrichment services tailored to meet the unique needs of each dog. Training and enrichment are integral parts of my own animal care philosophy, and I'd love to bring these practices to your pets during my visits. I have extended experience in shelter and vet medicine, using fear-free methods to ensure your animals view me as a friend, not a stranger. I am also fear-free shelter certified and pet CPR certified through the American Red Cross. I adore all dogs, from the biggest Great Danes to the tiniest Chihuahuas, and I look forward to getting to know your special furry friend. With a lifetime of animal care experience, you can expect complete peace of mind under my watchful eyes. My expertise extends to dogs, cats, rodents (rats, gerbils, hamsters), reptiles (snakes and lizards), birds, and horses. As a photography enthusiast, I will capture some PURRfect moments while you’re away! Check out my photos to see some of the cutest moments I've captured while working with or watching pets.
Reviews

As usual, Nicole always goes above and beyond when she cares for our fur-babies. Our pups love Nicole and we do too. We will continue to use her services as long as she’s available.

Nicole was a blessing and wonderful sitter for our furries! The girls loved her and enjoyed her company. We don’t often take extended stays because quality care is scarce. Not one worry while we were away. Best of all, we got plenty of updates and pictures. Thanks so much for caring for our babies.

Daily updates and photos, great engagement and management of high drive sport dogs, house was kept up very well - highly recommend Nicole!!

Nicole is competant, caring, compassionate and obviously loves furry friends! Our needy 11 yo pup was well-tended, and our house was in excellent order when we returned. It's refreshing to have someone so conscientious and meticulous. Having her in our house with our dog gave us great peace of mind and made our time away much more enjoyable as a result.
