Dog play dates, walks, hikes & more

(I will be moving off island to the Virginia/Maryland area in August 2026.) I've had dogs my whole life and it didn't matter where the military took me, I would keep them with me. I had my previous dog for 14 years and 5 moves, he was a well traveled dog that lived a long life. I now have 2 pups, a 2 year old corgi, and a 1 year old jack russell. They keep each other company and they like to run around the back yard thats fenced in, wrestle, and play with other dogs similar to their size. I've watched friends dogs in the past, provided eye drops and medication for them. I plan on opening up my own dog boarding business when I retire from the military. I know the struggle of finding someone who can take care of pets on island and I would like to help alleviate some stress from pet owners. Recently the pups and I took a break on Rover from Nov 2025-March 2026. I fostered a mamma pup and her 7, puppies until they were all adopted out. I now have three dogs of my own because I adopted the mamma and her name is Ipo. I'm now experienced in puppies that are still nursing and everything that goes along with puppies from when their eyes are still closed until they are all grown enough to be adopted out. It was such an eye opening experience and I loved it.

Nicole was amazing and so kind! She took great care of our onyx girl after her spay and was very patient. She updated with Pictures and videos throughout her boarding. We’re so bummed she is moving and would rebook her in a heartbeat.

Sir absolutely loved his time with Nicole and her sweet pups. It’s the second time he stayed with her, and he instantly felt at home. She spoiled him with new toys and let him play on the splash pad in her yard. I will definitely be sending him there again.

Nicole is incredibly sweet and understanding with last minute requests. My three year old corgi loves her and her doggies. She was respectful of my requests and I gave for flexibility with my dog. She frequently sent pics and videos of him having a blast. He certainly enjoyed his vacation at Casa de Nicole while I enjoyed mine. I was very relieved during my time away that my dog was loved and cared for. He can’t wait to be back.

I’m so thankful to have found Nicole. Our original dog sitter backed out on us prior to a very long trip away and I had so much anxiety trying to book someone to watch my pup with only a few weeks to do so. Nicole really went above and beyond with Bijou and made sure she was a part of her pack. She sent lots of regular updates which were very much appreciated when we had to spend so much time away from our doggo. Nicole also quickly addressed a minor health issue with our regular vet and kept me updated about everything happening in between. Thanks so much for such an awesome experience!

Schedule

Which ever pet I take care of will be treated like one of my dogs. I come home for lunch everyday so the dogs go out in the morning, hang out in the house during the day. Five hours after I leave, I come home for lunch and let them out. Then another five hours go by and I come home at the end of the day and let them out again, and they run around the back yard.

Pets

A typical day

When I watch other dogs we go on walks, dog parks, and sometimes the dog beach. Depends on what the status is of the pup and if there are any medical needs or not.

0 to 15 lbs
16 to 40 lbs
Spayed and neutered dogs only
No females in heat
Nicole can host up to 2 pets per night
If there are any limitations for the dog such as only walking for 10 minutes rather than long hikes, any medication that needs to be given, the temperament of the dog and what the normal feeding schedule looks like. As well as making sure the dog will get along with my dogs, I would like to do an initial meet up so they can be acquainted.
Each sitter joining Rover needs to pass a background check. And by booking on Rover, you can get photo & message updates, 24/7 support, and reimbursement for eligible vet care.
