I’ve known Nicola for over eight years and had the privilege of being her team leader during that time. In all those years, her dedication to the military working dogs in her care was impeccable; their welfare was always her absolute priority. She would regularly give up her own time after a long working day to return to the kennels, get the dogs out, exercise them and make sure they were mentally stimulated and happy. Nicola is also incredibly reliable and supportive of others. She often helped out fellow handlers by taking on their personal dogs at short notice when they had to go away, and nothing was ever too difficult or too much trouble for her. She is calm, trustworthy and professional, with a natural ability to read dogs and respond to their individual needs. On top of her skills, Nicola is a genuinely kind person who treats every dog as if it were her own and communicates clearly and honestly with the people around her.
