Pet care experience
Your dog’s new bestie!
Hi! I’m a Chicago native recently back after 25 years abroad, here caring for my mum and slightly dog obsessed. Unfortunately I am not in a position to have my own dog due to splitting my time between 2 different countries, so please let me hang out with your pooch! I only accept 1 booking at a time in an otherwise pet-free home, so your dog gets my full undivided attention in my care! I have a PhD in Information Studies and a long career as a professional artist and teacher, so I’m used to juggling a lot while staying present and attentive. Sorry I am extremely allergic to cats!
Qualifications
Safety, trust & environment
In a client’s home, I follow your routines exactly as you’ve set them. I’m detail‑oriented and good at managing instructions, so I make sure feeding times, meds, walks, and any house rules stay consistent. I read animals quickly, adjust to their energy, and keep things calm, predictable, and safe. Since I’m currently based at home while caring for my mum, I have a lot of daytime flexibility, which means I can give pets unhurried attention and stick to their usual rhythm. I don’t offer care in my own home right now, so when I’m with your pet, my focus is entirely on keeping them comfortable in their own space, maintaining their routine, and giving them the same care and presence I’d want if it were my dog.
Ratings and reviews
Nicole was great with our pup, Barry while he stayed with her for daycare! She took him for a nice long walk and made sure he was comfortable. We would love Nicole to watch Barry in the future!

Nicole lived near us and looked after our Border Collie X, Cassie, at her house while we were away on business for a couple of nights. Cassie was well looked after and was always excited to see Nicole again whenever we bumped into her in the neighborhood. I am happy to recommend Nicole as a dog sitter.

Schedule
Pet care fits naturally into my weekly routine because I build my days around caregiving, movement, and predictable rhythms. I’m currently back in Chicago caring for my mum, so I’m home‑based and available throughout the day, and walking dogs is how I structure my own physical activity and get meaningful time outdoors. I’m fast‑moving and good at managing schedules, so it’s easy for me to slot walks or drop‑ins into my mornings or afternoons, and I actually enjoy having those regular commitments. Since I can’t have a dog myself right now, spending time with other people’s dogs has become a genuinely grounding and joyful part of my week.
