Pet care experience

Reliable, dog owner and lover

Your pets are far more than just pets, they're members of your family and you don't want just anyone to take care of them while you're away or tied up working from home or helping your human kids with virtual school. As a kid, I cared for all of my neighbors' dogs and cats when they went away for a weekend or vacation (in addition to our own of course!) including walking, house drop-ins, and overnight sitting which has continued as I've grown older. After a lifetime of wanting my own, I finally have Weller - my Bernese mountain dog (who I have a hard time letting just anyone care for). I will treat your pet as I do my own and as I hope others care for him when I need help. Some dogs love meeting new people and others are particularly hesitant, timid, or scared. I've always had a patient and calming way, especially with anxious dogs. I prefer to begin with meet & greets, but understand sometimes things happen. Dog Walking: whether your dog is young and full of energy needing a long walk or lots of frisbee (if they're high energy and like to go for runs, I'm more than happy to schedule my run for the day with a companion) or a bit more relaxed and just needs to stretch their legs in the fresh air. Communication is a top priority, I will discuss with you their typical walking and/or play habits prior to our first meeting and walk, as well as continued communication with repeat walkers based on any feedback & how your pet is feeling that day/week. And you can be sure to receive the best photo updates of what we're up to! Pet Drop-Ins: whether your pet needs a meal, medication, or just some playtime I am happy to accommodate any needs. I have experience with pills, eye-drops, and creams/ointments but not injections. As with walking, communication is a top priority both for my own knowledge and understanding of your pet's needs and habits, as well as for your own peace of mind.

Safety, trust & environment

my husband and I live in a single family home that is one level (ranch style) with a basement. If your pet can’t do stairs they’ll really have no need to go into our basement. We have a backyard with space to place although it’s not fenced in so we would keep them on lead. Our home is puppy-proofed as we have a young Bernese mountain dog ourselves who loves other dogs and people. I’d love to set up a meet and greet with you, your dog, myself and my dog Weller to ensure they’re a good fit if boarding. If just walking or drop in, I’d still love to set up a meet and greet but not required to also bring my pup weller unless you’d like them to meet as well.

Super attentive and took great care of my pups. My dog burnt his paws just before she watched them. Nicole sent a lot of pictures and detailed updates, which made me feel at ease while being away from him while he was injured. Thanks Nicole! Definitely booking her again!

Nicole is an incredible person who adores the pets she's involved with. She watched our English Bulldog for two weeks when we went on vacation. She treated it as if it was her own. She did all the daily necessities as we requested. However, she went above and beyond, with multiple playtimes daily, walks around the neighborhood, as well as making sure our dog was loved and cared for. Our dog almost did not want to come home when we returned. Ever since then, our dog gets overly excited when she see Nicole. That alone shows how lucky anyone would be to have Nicole as a sitter, walker, or any other job. I strongly would not look any further as the Best is right here in front of you.

First I would like to say that my dong Sammy just loves Nicole. She is the best, loving dogs like they were her own. She knows how to be stern with them and kind and loving, what ever the dog may need at the time. I would trust here to take my pets for a quick walk, a relaxing long stroll, and even an overnight stay. All I know is that if Sammy, who is a lovable but neurotic Golden Retriever who is scared of everything and just about everyone, loves her a bunch. If he feels that way then she must be OK. Any pet would be lucky to have her come and take care of them for any amount of time. I highly recommend Nicole.

Schedule

If my calendar is marked as available, then I am working from home. This allows me the flexibility to meet pet owners needs whether a one time walk, drop ins, or boarding. My job doesn’t require me to be “logged on” or executing work at specific times therefore I can work my schedule around that day’s needs.

Please let me know if your dog has any special needs or accommodations, medications, sensitivities, etc. as well as whether walking on a trail around many prairie dogs would be an okay fit or not for them.
