A calm, grounded presence has always been at the center of how I care for animals. I’ve been around dogs for nearly my entire life (there’s been a dog in my household at some time or another from 2000 through 2024) and I’ve found that a lot of dogs find me to be a calming presence. That steady energy has made me the go‑to person for neighbors, friends, and acquaintances whenever they need reliable care for an extended stretch. My experience ranges from day boarding to overnight stays, including a two‑week sit when I was 18 that went smoothly from start to finish. Since then, I’ve kept a perfect track record. I’m familiar with dogs of all sizes and temperaments, and I’ve also cared for cats a handful of times, so mixed‑pet households are no problem. What sets me apart is a combination of calm rapport, long-term familiarity with animals, and my adaptable schedule. I’m used to adapting to each pet’s routine, reading their comfort levels, and giving them the kind of steady, attentive care that helps them feel safe while you’re away.

Nick is an amazing caretaker for dogs and a beloved uncle to our toy poodle, Tahini. He is capable of making instant connections with peoples’ pets, and his calming presence makes it easy for him to work with jumpy or otherwise anxious animals.
I highly recommend Nicolas for anyone seeking a reliable pet sitter. Nicolas watches my two dogs who each have very different needs, but he handles it perfectly, including walking them individually to ensure they each get the focus they need. He is punctual and communicative, and it’s a huge relief to know my girls are in such capable and loving hands. He is my first choice every time I need a hand with my dogs!

You’ll be bringing your pet into a quiet fifth‑floor apartment with two fully fenced balconies and plenty of space to relax. I’m about 15–20 minutes from Prospect Park in a calm, residential part of Brooklyn with lots of dog‑friendly neighbors around. I live with two roommates who both have experience caring for animals and are comfortable helping out when needed, and there are no permanent pets in the home, so the environment stays predictable and low‑stress. Whether I’m caring for pets here or in a client’s home, I focus on creating a safe, calm, and steady environment where routines are followed and pets feel secure.
A typical day
I live in a quiet residential area with a lot of friendly dogs, so we can go for a quiet walk in the area, or venture out 15-20 minutes more to go to Prospect Park, with a lot more space and greenery to explore.
