Experienced Dog Mum with a Heart for High-Energy
I’ve been caring for dogs since I was 10 years old; from tiny Westies and Lhasa Apsos to big personalities like Huskies and Kelpies. Growing up with dogs of all shapes and sizes taught me that every dog is different, and great care means tailoring my love to them: physically, emotionally, and energetically. Now, as a proud Kelpie owner, I understand what it means to look after intelligent, high-energy breeds who need more than just a walk - they want engagement, structure and attention. I bring calm, consistent energy to every dog I care for, with a mix of play, rest, and routine tailored to what helps them feel secure. What sets me apart is the individual care I give, I only take small number of bookings at a time ( boarding 1 on 1) so your dog gets my full attention. Whether it’s long walks, brain games, or simply quiet cuddles, I treat every dog like one of my own in a peaceful, dog-friendly home.

Not many people are brave enough or capable of taking on 3 dogs but Nicky does a great job looking after our girls. It is reassuring to know they are being so well cared for in what is becoming a second home to our girls! 🐶🐶🐶
We can’t recommend Nicola highly enough! Our dog Tilly stayed with Nicola for 10 days and had a fantastic time. She was looked after exceptionally well and Nicola kept to all Tilly’s routines, including having her teeth brushed (which Nicola had never done before, but was willing to try!) Tilly enjoyed being with Nicola’s 2 dogs, and she was taken out twice every day for long walks in many locations, mainly dodging the rain showers. Nicola kept us informed of Tilly’s adventures on a daily basis, which we had wanted, and sent us many wonderful photos of Tilly enjoying her holiday. We are so pleased and grateful to have found Nicola and will be sending Tilly back to her when we next need holiday cover.
Absolutely brilliant! Nicola took every effort to give our dog a wonderful stay with lots of tlc and lovely walks. This was Tilly's first stay with Nicola and was just for 1 night but she is going back next week for a longer holiday and we know now that she will be so well looked after. She has already made a new friend with the youngest of Nicola's dogs and Nicola has also got lots of activities planned for them. The communication has been superb with lovely messages describing what Tilly was doing, complete with great photos which all gave us peace of mind. We will tell more of the story after the next installment.

Nicky was great. My girls settled well and they seemed very happy and cared for during our holiday. Nicky kept me posted with photos and updates of their daily activities and followed their routine and feeding instructions. Overall very happy and I would recommend.
My girls loved their first trip to Nicky for the day. They settled straight away and Nicky took them for two long walks and gave them lots of attention and kept me updated with photos. They came back very happy and suitably shattered.

I don’t work at the moment - so I can be flexible in terms of walks, feeds and play time. Also drop off and pick ups!

Safety, trust & environment
For boarding I have a fenced garden - easy access to country walks and also my own crate ( for puppies). With my own transport - for walks I can do pick ups and drop offs to suit.
Pets
A typical day
With a kelpie I am now an expert with stick and ball throwing - however I prefer to try to do other training exercises to stimulate the brain ( stopping / sitting / recall etc) to avoid pets jumping and pulling.

- Although I like to adapt my care to every animal. If your pet has any little pet qwerks [and they all do ] such as special needs / triggers / rewards please let me know in advance and can easily accommodate. Please can you also provide food to suit your pup’s dietary requirements - this avoids any upset tummys and alows them to adapt to their temporary home quicker! :)
