My schedule is very flexible, which means I have plenty of time for walks, drop-ins, playdates, and house sitting on weekdays and weekends. Honestly, I am always happy to adjust my day around a pet - if I am free, I’d much rather be outside with a dog than doing anything else! 😊 My schedule may change in the future as I explore work opportunities, but I will always plan ahead and keep my availability clearly updated.

I will care for pets in their own home where they feel safest and most comfortable, keeping their routine consistent and following all instructions closely, including feeding, walks, and care needs. I will respect the owner’s home at all times, keeping it clean, secure, and as I found it, and will provide regular updates for peace of mind. For dog walking, I live in Amsterdam-Noord (and am happy to travel within Amsterdam), with plenty of quiet, dog-friendly streets and green spaces nearby. I will always choose safe, suitable areas for relaxed and enjoyable walks.

Pet care experience
My “no-pets-allowed” apartment in Amsterdam feels a bit too quiet without dogs 🐶 I have grown up with dogs for the past 25 years and miss my dachshunds back in South Africa, so being a pet walker and sitter here will be my daily dose of dog love. I am comfortable with cats (I have cared for my sister’s cat) and I have experience with both senior and younger dogs, as well as all temperaments. I am especially experienced with dachshunds and similar breeds, and always mindful of their sensitive backs. Although I live in Amsterdam-Noord, I will be happy to travel anywhere in Amsterdam for walks, visits, or overnight stays. I will always take time to understand each pet’s routine and personality so they feel safe, relaxed, and at home! 😊

Nicola, our youngest daughter, grew up with dogs while living with us in South Africa, so caring for pets has always been a natural part of her life. She recently moved to the Netherlands and would love the chance to spend time with and care for pets again. Nicola looked after my cat, Mollica, in my home for a week while I was away. I felt completely reassured knowing she was in her care. She made sure Mollica was fed, had fresh water and also cleaned the litter box every day. Nicola gave her lots of attention and company, and even took her on little walks since she is an indoor cat. Mollica became very attached to Nicola, and I would absolutely trust her again to care for my pets.
I lived with Nicola and experienced how caring and patient she is with animals. She looked after a nervous rescue puppy from a shelter for a week before she found a loving home. The puppy was very shy at first, but Nicola was gentle, calm, and attentive, making sure she felt safe, comfortable, and cared for throughout. I would fully trust Nicola with any dog, no matter their personality.
