I’m currently working part time from home, so I have plenty of time to play with your pets! I’m available for house sitting on weekdays and I'm happy to discuss weekends, too. I am self employed and work from home, so I have plenty of time to dedicate to your furry loved one, with loads of play time, indoors and out and plenty of space for them to snooze and chill. My dogs love a good run in the woods, so I often take them further afield than the local park, where they can enjoy longer walks and can run free or stretch out on long leads, depending on their recall. I can ensure that your pet is never left unattended, minimising risks and hazards. • I follow a structured routine for feeding, walks, and playtime to make your pet’s stay as stress-free and consistent as possible. Trust and Transparency • I’ll send regular updates, complete with photos, so you always feel assured your pet is having a good time. • Whether your pet has dietary restrictions, needs medication, or has particular habits, I’ll cater to their needs and tailor their stay accordingly. Our Environment • My ground floor garden flat is open plan and spacious with two large sofa’s, which have mostly been taken over by the dogs! There are dog beds, a toy box in the corner, a crate and underfloor heating, for post walk chilly day's! • I have a fully fenced, large and long, grassy garden, perfect for breakouts, fresh air and a bit of play. We live next to one of London’s most pet-friendly parks, Finsbury Park, which has loads of open space and allows us to offer plenty of outdoor activities. Whether it’s a quick walk or a longer play session, we can easily adapt to your pet’s exercise needs. We love the outdoors and also like to change it up, so often take a trot along the Parkland Walk. If we have time, we continue onwards to Queen’s Wood and Highgate Wood, plus we do longer trips in the car to Hampstead Heath, Alexander Palace, Coldfall Woods and, less often, Trent Park.

Information Nicola M. would like to know about your pet
THINKING AHEAD 🐾 It would be great if you could let me know if your dog or cat has any special needs or behaviours I can bear in mind? We can discuss them in more detail when you book but a few important things to mention or find out about are: Behavioral Traits • Socialization: Does your pet get along well with other animals and children? Are there any behavioral quirks I should be aware of? For example, does your pet bark at other dogs, jump when excited, cry when left alone - even if it’s only for a short period, such as when I take out the rubbish? • Energy Levels: Is your pet high-energy or more of a laid-back lounger? This helps us plan appropriate activities. • Special Fears or Anxiety: Does your pet have specific triggers like loud noises, thunder, crowds, or separation anxiety? Medical Requirements • Dietary Restrictions: Are there foods your pet should avoid or special feeding schedules we should follow? Is your pet allergic to anything? • Medication: Does your pet require any medication? If so, please provide detailed instructions, including dosage and timing. • Emergency Contacts: Please share your vet’s contact information and any other emergency numbers. General Preferences • Favorite Toys or Treats: Please provide your pet with their favorite toys or treats so we can make their stay even more enjoyable. • Sleeping Arrangements: Does your pet have a preferred sleeping spot, crate or special bedtime routine? Many thanks. This information will help us to create a personalised and happy experience for your pet. LONG MUDDY WALKS: If your dog has been out enjoying themselves in the woods and fields, it's likely they'll be really wet and muddy. I'm happy to clean their paws but would need to charge for an undercarriage skim or full shampoo post walk and would need a towel to dry them off. PUP PACK LIST - Here's a few things to consider if they are coming to stay! Food and water bowls Food Treats Medicine (if applicable) Towel (for cleaning wet feet or if a bath is necessary after a muddy park day) Soap (if your dog needs frequent baths) Poo bags Toys Favorite blanket Bed, Crate or both Brush (if necessary)
A typical day
Every day is walk day, at least twice a day, if not more! Each dog will have it's routine but it's really important to me that any animal who stays or comes to play has a fun and happy time with it. As a dog owner myself, I know how important it is for my animals to be not just exercised but mentally stimulated too, or they simply get bored, which means sniff and search and game playing. Not only do I take them for lovely walks and run's in local parks and playfields, where they can pick up their peemails en route, but I know what they really love is to get out to new locations, where all the smells are new and they can run free, through water, fields and woods. I can either give them my undivided attention and take them out individually for a leisurely stroll or an energetic run or play session, or they can go with a group, where they can socialise and have fun together. Either way, they will be kept active, engaged and happy. Once home, I understand the importance of rest and quiet time to avoid over stimulation. Play time is good and rest time is growth! When I'm cat sitting, activities for feline friends can include, playing with squeaky mice, feathers, lasers and wands and, of course, there will always be cuddles, so your cat feels loved, safe and relaxed. Looking after pets is always a joy for me so, whatever kind of pet I'm looking after, it's important for me to make sure I identify what makes it happy, whether that's a game, some exercise or simply a snuggle.

Pet care experience
https://www.rover.com/sit/nickym91295 Hi, I am a north London-based dog walker and animal sitter and I’m absolutely passionate about the animals I get to look after. I love seeing them play, sniff, explore and get the exercise they need. I love all animals and grew up in the countryside, where we had all sorts of pets - cats, dogs, hamsters, fish and guinea pigs. I also used to look after my aunty’s alsatians and cat's and my uncle’s labrador's. No room for a large menagerie in London, so now I have just two dogs - a Norjack (Norfolk/Jack Russell), Luna, and her puppy (Norjack/Cockapoo mix!), Chewy. Luna gave birth to six puppies a year ago, so we have had a lot of experience of young pups in a busy household. Plus, when I was younger, my lovely lab, Winnie, had two litters of 12 and 10! Such an amazing experience but very busy times, caring for them, hand feeding them and starting to train them, before they went off to live with their new family’s. I walk dog’s for friend’s, family, neighbours and lots of local families. I tailor walks to your dog, listening to your guidelines and looking out for what bring's them joy. There's nothing better than seeing animals have fun! I can even give them a shampoo, if they get covered in mud after a walk. I am trustworthy, caring, and safety-oriented and I prioritise your furry friend’s happiness. Can't wait to meet your pups and pussycats soon! :-)
Reviews

I met Nicky with my dog Riley last week and knew straight away that she was going to be great - she asked so many questions about Riley and was so accommodating to my schedule! Knowing Riley is quite nervous she took the time and care to gently encourage her out of the house and even went back a second time to make sure she was comfortable. I’m so grateful for Nicky being so kind and considerate with my nervous pooch, allowing me to be relaxed about the next times she takes her out! She even collected my parcel for me when bringing her home.

Thank you so much Nicola for looking after thunder. Thunder is 15 and can be quite anxious and confused in new spaces, and Nicola looked after her with so much care! She took her for a long walk, carried her in her sling when she got tired, made sure she was doing alright at all times. Her home is well equipped for all kinds of dogs, with a lovely large garden in the back. Thunder also had company with Nicolas two lovely dogs. Definitely recommend her for any kind of dog care!

Nicola was absolutely fantastic. From the pre-meet, to the communication before, to the day itself. She even came to pick Rafiki up, as we were having a busy morning. Rafiki had the best time with her and her two dogs! Would highly recommend. She’s brilliant

Nicky was absolutely wonderful with our dachshund, Elvis. She took him for a lovely long walk and even washed him down afterwards, as he was very muddy, which we really appreciated. She made sure he was fed, gave him lots of cuddles, and was incredibly patient and kind when he felt a bit nervous after we left for work. It was so reassuring knowing he was in such caring hands. We couldn’t recommend Nicky highly enough and would happily have her look after Elvis again.
