I grew up in the jungles of Hawaii surrounded by pets of all shapes and sizes, thanks to my mom who was always rescuing baby animals. My siblings and I learned quickly how to raise and care for everyone from chickens and rabbits to cats and dogs to cows and horses. Being outside and raising animals became a natural part of my daily life and routine. Now as a pet sitter and dog walker based in the East Bay, I bring all that experience, creativity, and patience to making sure your furry family members feel safe, loved, and genuinely happy while you’re away. Over the years I’ve cared for animals in all kinds of settings — from my time at the East Bay SPCA in Dublin, to customer care at Wag Hotels in Oakland, to dog walking with Dog Walks SF and Doggy Lama Pet Care. Today I pour all of that into my work with your pets, giving each one the same attention and care I’d want for my own.

Safety, trust & environment
In your home I treat your space with the same care and respect I would want for my own. I follow your usual routines as closely as possible — feeding, walks, potty breaks, playtime, and any house rules — so your pet feels secure and things stay predictable. I keep a close eye on doors and gates, always use secure harnesses and leashes on walks, and never introduce new dogs or environments without your permission. I also send regular updates and photos so you can relax knowing your pup is safe, happy, and well cared for while you’re away.
Ratings and reviews
Nicky has been very patient with Milo and Piper. Our fur babies have warmed up to her in record time, which is due to her being a natural and having a wonderful temperament. Nicky has also been very open minded with us scheduling trial runs so that we’re all feeling good about using Nicky’s services.
Nicky is great! I have a pretty anxious dog who takes a while to trust new people and Nicky has been so awesome working with me and my dog to create a safe space for her!

Nicky stayed in my home and took care of my beloved doberman Elsa for three nights. Elsa is athletic and exuberant, but also sensitive. So when our old dog sitter couldn't help us, I was anxious to find a new person who would be a good fit. Nicky spent an hour with us for a meet and greet. She asked many thoughtful questions about Elsa's needs. I could tell right away she was an experienced, skilled dog sitter. A couple of days before my trip, Elsa's paw got swollen and infected from a foxtail entry. She would have to take six pills a day and stay on leash for very limited exercise. Nicky didn't flinch. She had no trouble administering Elsa's medicine and keeping her happy and content even without her typical level of physical activity. I really appreciated that she kept me updated with texts and photos whiile I was away. When I returned, I was greeted by a happy dog, and my home was exactly as I had left it. Nicky is a friendly, positive, and knowledgeable dog sitter. She has a steady, professional manner. I felt confident leaving my dog in her care, and I'd be happy to work with her again.
Nicky was great. Stayed out our place and watch our two little pups. Sent pictures and updated us on how they were doing!

Schedule
My flexible schedule means I get to spend lots of quality time with your furry family members. I’m available for frequent potty breaks (about every 1–2 hours or as needed) and I do my best to follow your pet’s usual routine so they feel comfortable and safe while you’re away. I also love staying active and being outdoors, so your pups can enjoy plenty of walks, playtime, and exploring beautiful East Bay neighborhoods and parks.
