Pet care experience

Loving, Reliable Dog Sitter

I offer a calm home where dogs can relax, explore, and feel part of the family. With plenty of outdoor space and access to safe, scenic walking routes, dogs in my care get both physical exercise and a peaceful environment away from busy streets. What sets me apart is the level of individual attention I give to each dog. I keep numbers low so I can stick closely to your dog’s routine, whether that’s regular walks, feeding schedules, or just lots of affection and companionship. I provide daily updates with photos so you can feel confident your dog is happy and well cared for. I’m comfortable caring for dogs of all ages, including energetic puppies who need structure and consistency, as well as older dogs who benefit from a slower pace and extra comfort. I pay close attention to behaviour, body language, and wellbeing to ensure every dog feels safe and settled. My goal is simple: a home-from-home experience where your dog gets fresh air, gentle care, and plenty of love while you’re away.

I was nervous to leave my boy with a dog sitter but I had no reason to worry at all. He has clearly had the best time being looked after by Nicky In her home. Regular updates of how he was getting on, and was great for him to make a new doggy friend too with Nicky’s own dog. I will be in touch next time he (I) need a holiday!!

Schedule

Pet care fits naturally into our daily routine as someone is home most of the time. I’m home throughout the day so dogs are rarely left alone and always have company and supervision. My day is structured around the dogs, with regular walks, feeding times, play, and plenty of downtime. Living in the a stones throw from the countryside means we can offer daily scenic walks and a calm, relaxed environment away from busy roads. I keep a consistent schedule to help dogs feel secure, while also adapting to each dog’s individual needs—whether that’s more exercise (I walk ultra marathons so am used to long walks if needed), quiet time, or extra support for puppies or older dogs. Overall, dogs become part of our home and routine, with plenty of companionship, fresh air, and a safe, peaceful environment.

Safety, trust & environment

Safety and trust are my top priorities, and I provide a calm, secure, home-from-home environment for every dog. Before each stay, I take time to understand your dog’s routine, preferences, and any specific needs so I can keep their experience as consistent and stress-free as possible. At home, dogs benefit from a fully fenced, secure garden, giving them the freedom to explore, play, and relax safely. They are always supervised, with someone home most of the day, so they’re rarely left alone and always have company. I keep numbers low to ensure each dog gets plenty of individual attention, and I carefully manage introductions to maintain a balanced environment. Dogs are never put in overwhelming situations and always have a comfortable space to rest. Living near the countryside allows for peaceful, controlled walks in a low-traffic setting. Dogs are kept on lead unless otherwise agreed, and their safety is always my priority. I follow feeding routines exactly, can administer medication if needed, and closely monitor each dog’s wellbeing. You’ll receive regular updates and photos for peace of mind. Overall, I offer a safe, secure, and loving environment—with the added benefit of a fenced outdoor space—so your dog can relax, play, and feel completely at home.

Pets

A typical day

A typical day caring for pets starts with making sure they’re happy, comfortable, and sticking to their normal routine as much as possible. In the morning, I begin with feeding, fresh water, and a walk or playtime depending on the pet’s needs. I always take time to give them attention and check how they’re doing. Throughout the day, I balance activity and rest — whether that’s walks, play sessions, or just keeping them company so they don’t feel alone. I follow any specific instructions carefully, including feeding schedules, medication, or training routines. I also send regular updates with photos so owners can feel reassured that their pet is safe and having a good time. In the evening, I make sure pets are settled, fed, and relaxed before bedtime. My goal is to keep their day as normal, stress-free, and enjoyable as possible while giving them lots of care and attention.

Before caring for your pet, it’s really helpful for me to know their routine, personality, and any specific needs they have. This includes feeding schedules, walking habits, and how they typically behave around other animals or people. Please let me know about any medical conditions, allergies, or medications, as well as anything they might be nervous about (like loud noises or being left alone). I also appreciate knowing their favourite toys, treats, and any training cues or rules you’re currently working on. It’s helpful to have emergency contact details, including your vet information, and clear instructions for the home if I’ll be staying there. The more I know in advance, the better I can make sure your pet feels safe, comfortable, and cared for while you’re away.
Each sitter joining Rover needs to pass a background check. And by booking on Rover, you can get photo & message updates, 24/7 support, and reimbursement for eligible vet care.
