I’m a huge walker and a very active individual. I typically walk about 8-11 miles per day and I truly enjoy every minute of it. I’ve had 4 dogs throughout my life. A German Shepard, Rottweiler, Shih Tzu and I currently have a 6 year old husky, who is also very active! She enjoys sun bathing and walking as much as I do, but doesn’t get to join me on every walk during the hot summer months. She’s a gentle sweetheart, who has been around my nephews since birth and she is on the smaller side for being a husky. I am very respectful of whatever routine your pet has because I know how important it is to stay consistent and keep your pet comfortable while you are away. I’m open to answer any questions you may have. My goal is to make sure your pet feels safe and that you feel reassured that they are in good hands.

A typical day
A typical day with me would include a walk, at the dogs leisure, a trip to the dog park if the owner is comfortable with that, play time, ball time, must throw in some safe homemade dog cookies and then obviously some down time where hopefully he/she enjoys some BRAVO reality TV. Favorite places to walk through are the National Mall, Capitol Hill, Capital Crescent Trail and the Canal. I love taking dogs along with me if I’m planning on sitting outside and reading a book. I recently moved to NC but I love to walk around downtown, around my neighborhood, Duke Gardens and finding new trails.

Pet care experience
I have personally owned, fostered, and helped a large amount of lost pets find their way home to their owners, or safely make their way to a shelter since I was about 16 years old. I'm originally from the DMV area, Montgomery County. Growing up I would take-in stray animals and assisted them in regaining good health in order to find them the perfect home. I would work with animal shelters to provide the animals with the best possible attention and care needed. I've dealt with pets from birth to senior, including many that required special care and animals who require special medications. I’ve always had a way with animals, always befriending them anywhere I go, and I've always had a passion for helping them and their loved ones!

I would highly recommend Nickie as your pup’s sitter! I felt my pup was in very safe hands. She brought her to the dog park, went on long walks and sent many photos! My dog came home one happy doggie !
