The Doxie Whisperer
Our hearts (and home) belong to miniature dachshunds. We have spent over two decades loving and caring for this special breed. Our journey began with two littermate dachshunds who were part of our family for 17 wonderful years. Today, we share our lives with two more littermate dachshunds who are just over four years old. Through these years, we’ve gained hands on experience caring for dachshunds at every life stage—from energetic puppies to senior companions.

This was my first time working with Nick, and it was a great experience. He was responsive, communicative, and sent updates throughout the day, which gave me peace of mind and let me know Kona was settling in well. I wouldn’t hesitate to book with Nick again.
Nick is a fantastic dog sitter, he goes above and beyond and truly cares about the pups. He made sure our puppy had a 1 year old birthday party even when we had to be out of town. We feel incredibly comfortable having our dog stay with him!
Nick is the best. This was our pup Ziggy’s first time staying with a rover. Nick was prompt with communications and pics through each day. He’s got a great setup and knows dachshund’s well. I’d be happy to have Ziggy stay there anytime he had so much fun!
Nick is awesome! I have an 8 year old dachshund with early stage IVDD and some pretty intense separation anxiety. Chief can be a lot but Nick took excellent care of him. The home is set up to cater to the doxie’s sensitive little spines with ramps, nice outdoor area for the dogs. Loved getting update pictures of Chief playing with the other dachshunds, so cute! Felt a peace of mind leaving Chief in Nick’s care.
Nick was wonderful! Amazing communication, sent us pictures every day. He even fed our pup by hand cause she wasnt eating. Thats a good human! We were originally really nervous to leave pup with someone for the first time. We did a meet and greet with a few different dog watchers before picking Nick. Nick was the obvious choice, he asked all the right questions, very good at what he does. Will be using him in the future! Our puppy loved him!
Nick accepted our last minute request, was flexible on drop off and pick up times, and has an AMAZING set up. He was extremely professional, was conscientious about safety, took excellent care of our girl and kept us updated with pics. I can't recommend him enough!!!

Schedule
I work from home full time, which means your pup is never left unattended or set on a schedule that doesn’t fit their needs. My “office” is wherever the dogs are—most often at our kitchen island—allowing for plenty of one on one attention throughout the day. This setup provides consistent companionship, frequent potty breaks, supervised playtime, enrichment activities, and training moments naturally woven into the day.

Safety, trust & environment
Dachshunds have unique physical needs, particularly when it comes to protecting their backs and joints. Our home has been thoughtfully designed as a true Doxie paradise—a calm, secure space built specifically with their safety in mind. To prevent jumping and unnecessary strain, dogs do not have access to furniture and all stairs are blocked or gated. Our backyard is double fenced and features premium artificial pet turf, along with commercial grade shade sails to keep pups cool and comfortable during the summer months. A doggie door leads to a fully enclosed, predator proof outdoor dog run with a small doghouse and shaded cover—your pup’s own personal safe space. Should we ever need to step out briefly, all dogs are safely crated to ensure their wellbeing.

A typical day
A typical day at our Doxie paradise is filled with affection, enrichment, and fun. Expect plenty of tummy rubs, supervised playtime, and activities designed to engage both body and mind. We love using puzzle games to stimulate curious little brains, and for pups who enjoy digging, our indoor iDig puzzle mat is always a favorite. Weather permitting, we spend time running, exploring, and playing together in the yard. On special occasions, we may head out for a gentle adventure to a farmers market, quiet park, or other pet friendly destination designed for enrichment and enjoyment. For all outings, we use a large pet stroller so everyone stays safe, secure, and comfortable at all times.

- A Note on Breed Specialization: We proudly specialize in dachshund care, as this is the breed we know and love best. Other small, similar breeds may be considered on a case by case basis, provided they are a good fit for our environment and care philosophy. Please note: All dogs must be fully up to date on vaccinations. We also kindly ask that clients avoid dog parks or environments with large groups of dogs prior to their stay, to help keep everyone healthy and safe.
