Safety, trust & environment

I’ve honed my skills in creating a safe and comfortable environment for pets by growing up with a dog always in the house and through my previous 2 years of pet & house sitting. Your pets welfare is my top priority, and to do this, I’ll need to know as much as possible about them before the job starts. This includes a meet and greet where we can both ask questions, and a mutual observation of interacting with your pet. I look forward to providing them with the love, care, and attention they deserve.

Information Nicholas W. would like to know about your pet

I would like to know the general size, their eating schedule, their exercise schedule, and if there is anything specific about them that I should avoid or focus more on (other dogs, interactions with people, etc.).

A typical day

Depending on the pets needs, I would plan on doing what’s best for your them. That could be taking the them for a walk at a park if it is acceptable to do so, a walk around the neighborhood, or stay inside if they’re an indoor only pet. I’d be sure to understand their exercise routine and incorporate that in everyday I’m sitting. They will always be on a leash when outside unless a fenced in area is available and safe.

Pet care experience

I have been dog, cat, and house sitting for over 2 years now. I recently relocated to the Richmond area and joined Rover to continue sitting as my previous clients were through word of mouth. I have a background that includes caring for dogs of all sizes (dachshunds, corgis, aussies, doodles, terriers, dobermans, newfies). Growing up with dogs in my family, I have an innate understanding of their needs and affectionate nature. Contact me to discuss how I can cater to your pet’s specific needs!

Nick took care of our pup and house over a long weekend. He was a great communicator leading up to and during the support. He kept the pup happy, well walked, medicated, and relaxed all weekend while leaving the house exactly as we left it. Highly recommend if you need a pup sitter. Thanks!

I met Nick through a recommendation from another dog walker in our area. We have a Newfoundland dog, a cat and a saltwater fish tank. We needed someone to come into our home for the week of spring break. I wasn't crazy about letting a stranger do this (we rarely travel), but once I met Nick during our pre-vacation "get to know each other" meet up, I was more than comfortable with him taking care of our pets and home. He was friendly, personable and professional. He asked plenty of great questions and communicated very well before and during our trip. While we were gone, Nick sent plenty of updates and photos of Gibson and Scout, which gave us peace of mind to fully enjoy our vacation while not worrying about what was going on back home. I highly recommend Nick to Rover. In fact, we booked him for the following year's spring break during our trip - we didn't want him to get away!

Nick has watched our dachshund Penny on a few occasions, including our wedding weekend. He took such great care of her and left our house spotless when we returned. Penny loves Nick and is so excited every time he comes over! I would choose Nick to dog sit for us any day!

I can't recommend Nick enough as a pet sitter! He has spent a lot of time with my two dogs, Bert (my Aussie) and Ernie (my Rottweiler), and they absolutely adore him. Nick goes above and beyond—he's not just a sitter, he's a true friend to my pups. He brings them little gifts, plays with them, and they always light up when they see him. I feel completely at ease knowing that when they're with Nick, they're not only safe and well-cared for, but they're also having a great time. He’s trustworthy, caring, and really understands what dogs need. If you're looking for someone who will treat your pets like family, Nick is your guy!
