Home-Style Boarding & Daycare
I’ve cared for dogs my entire life, including large working breeds, senior dogs, puppies and dogs with medical needs. I’m comfortable managing multiple dogs safely, and tailoring care to each dog’s personality and routine. Lu’s Doggy Watch, a home-style boarding & daycare service, was inspired by my Doberman, Eero Lucas (“Big Lu”), who recently passed away. After losing him, the house felt far too quiet, and with the built in infrastructure, caring for dogs again felt like the right way to honor him. Every dog in my home is treated like family, with a safe, structured environment, a fenced yard with birds and squirrels, plenty of supervised play, walks, pictures and attention! My goal is simple: give you peace of mind knowing your dog is safe, happy, loved, and cared for as if they were my own, while you’re away.

Nicholas was amazing with our 2 dogs! He is well-equipped to handle several dogs and give them all plenty of engagement and exercise! What a blessing to have someone we can trust with our boys!
Nicholas is great, he took care of my retired working dog for just shy of a week while I was on vacation. While that doesn’t seem like a tall task at face value, it can be incredibly challenging. Especially with my old man, who suffers from chronic pain, and a degenerative hip condition from his working days along with a cognitive decline. My dog is my family, I’ve spent more time with him in the last 7 years than I did with my wife and kid. Immediately upon Nicholas meeting Boris, I felt at ease. During my trip he updated me multiple times daily and provided pictures, which let me relax and enjoy my vacation knowing Boris was being truly cared for in my absence. 5 stars doesn’t do it justice. Will absolutely book with him again anytime I need to leave and cannot bring my dog with me.
We were very happy with Nicholas!! Our pup was clearly happy during his weekend there, and Nicholas was really easy to communicate with before and during. 100% recommend!
Indigo enjoyed his overnight stay with Nicholas. We didn't have a chance for an initial meet-and-greet, but that wasn't a big issue since Indigo felt right at home when he got there. He socialized well with the other dogs, and Nicholas allowed him the space he needed to do so.
Big dog owner here with rambunctious dogs. Nicholas handled them with ease. Great photo ops, daily play, walks and activities. Thanks for taking care of them!
Nicholas is extremely approachable, great with dogs, and flexible with scheduling. He took great care of Cocoa and provided photos daily. Highly recommend!

Schedule
Pet care is a natural part of my daily routine. I work from home and maintain a flexible schedule, allowing me to provide frequent potty breaks, supervised playtime, walks, feeding, and plenty of attention throughout the day. Dogs are never left alone for extended periods and are treated like Big Lu, the Doberman who inspired Lu’s Doggy Watch, in other words, part of the family.

Safety, trust & environment
Safety and supervision are my top priorities. In my home, dogs are cared for in a clean, comfortable environment with a fully fenced backyard, structured routines, and plenty of attention throughout the day. Dogs are introduced carefully, monitored during play, and separated when needed to ensure everyone remains safe and comfortable. I follow each owner’s instructions for feeding, medication, exercise, and sleeping arrangements, and I provide regular updates and photos so owners can have peace of mind while they’re away.
A typical day
A typical day includes plenty of supervised outdoor time, play sessions, potty breaks, and time to relax indoors. I tailor activities to each dog’s energy level and personality, whether that means playing fetch in the yard, going for walks, working on basic commands, or simply providing companionship and attention. My goal is to keep dogs active, engaged, fed and comfortable while maintaining a structured routine that helps them feel at home.
