Pet care is a natural part of my daily routine. I work from home and maintain a flexible schedule, allowing me to provide frequent potty breaks, supervised playtime, walks, feeding, and plenty of attention throughout the day. Dogs are rarely left alone for extended periods and are treated like Big Lu, the Doberman who inspired Lu’s Doggy Watch, in other words, part of the family.

Safety, trust & environment
Safety and supervision are my top priorities. In my home, dogs are cared for in a clean, comfortable environment with a fully fenced backyard, structured routines, and plenty of attention throughout the day. Dogs are introduced carefully, monitored during play, and separated when needed to ensure everyone remains safe and comfortable. I follow each owner’s instructions for feeding, medication, exercise, and sleeping arrangements, and I provide regular updates and photos so owners can have peace of mind while they’re away.

Information NICHOLAS W. would like to know about your pet
Before a stay, I’d like to know about your dog’s temperament, daily routine, feeding schedule, medications, allergies, vaccination status, and how they interact with other dogs and people. It’s also helpful to know about any fears, anxiety triggers, resource guarding behaviors, escape tendencies, or special needs so I can provide the safest and most comfortable experience possible. The more I know ahead of time, the better I can make your dog’s stay feel like home. Whatever you feel is important as a dog parent.
A typical day
A typical day includes plenty of supervised outdoor time, play sessions, potty breaks, and time to relax indoors. I tailor activities to each dog’s energy level and personality, whether that means playing fetch in the yard, going for walks, working on basic commands, or simply providing companionship and attention. My goal is to keep dogs active, engaged, fed and comfortable while maintaining a structured routine that helps them feel at home.

Pet care experience
I’ve owned and cared for dogs for most of my life, including large working breeds, senior dogs, and dogs with medical needs. I have experience administering medications, managing multiple dogs safely, and recognizing changes in behavior that may indicate stress, illness, or discomfort. I understand that every dog is different, and I take the time to learn their routines, energy levels, and personalities so they feel comfortable and secure while in my care. What sets me apart is that I treat every dog like a member of the family. My home is structured, safe, and designed to provide a calm environment rather than a crowded kennel experience. I have experience with crate training, leash handling, senior dog care, and introducing dogs appropriately. As a homeowner with a fenced yard, I can provide plenty of supervised outdoor time, exercise, and attention throughout the day. Lu’s Doggy Watch was inspired by my Doberman, Eero Lucas, who taught me firsthand the importance of trust, patience, and quality care. My goal is simple: give pet owners peace of mind knowing their dog is safe, happy, and well cared for while they’re away.

Great communication ! Great with pets

Nick provided excellent care for Maverick while I had to attend an in-person work meeting for the day. He kept me updated throughout the day, which gave me so much peace of mind, and he sent the best pictures of Maverick enjoying himself. It was clear Maverick was well cared for, comfortable, and happy. I truly appreciate the attention and care Nick provided, especially with Maverick still being a puppy. I would highly recommend Nick to anyone looking for reliable and caring puppy-watching services!

Here’s a stronger version that keeps the warmth while sounding polished and credible: Nicholas has been fantastic. He arrived right on time for our meet-and-greet and was professional, friendly, and confident from the start. I have two 110-pound Dobermans who can be challenging to handle, and Nicholas had no problem getting them under control and walking them together. His calm demeanor and experience with large dogs were immediately apparent. It’s not easy to find someone you trust with your dogs, but Nicholas quickly earned that trust. I’m looking forward to continuing to work with him and highly recommend him to anyone looking for a reliable and capable dog walker.
Nicholas was amazing with my dog blue. Blue was excited to see him when he was scheduled to watch him again. He updated me frequently and I felt comfortable leaving my pet with him.
