Pet care experience

Energetic and passionate!

I am a very passionate and driven person when it comes to any and all animals! I currently am the owner of a 10 year old Belgian Malinois, but for many years I have taken sole care of both dogs and cats of all different breeds, and am well experienced in all general pet care. All of the dogs I ever had as a kid were trained as puppies almost solely by myself and my brothers. My mom used to make me read books and do online research about the breed of dog we had, different training techniques, K9 first-aid, and so much more. Being as passionate as I am about animals, those studies were well retained, and while I don't have professional experience, the knowledge gained from doing it on my own with 9 different dogs over my lifetime have graced me with at the very least, an in depth knowledge of all different stages of dog ownership. In regards to puppies: I have experience potty training, leash training, crate training, and what I would call experienced but moderate obedience training skills. I know how to deal with things like food aggression, how to properly establish the "hierarchy" or "pack mentality" and other conditioning behaviors. As well as handling young puppies, I've even assisted a momma in giving birth to a new litter, and taking special care of a brand new litter of 7 pups! So my experience with all dogs truly does begin at birth and goes all the way to end of life care. For the old timers: The couch potatoes in our lives need just as much, and sometimes even more care than their energetic and young counterparts. I have experience with things like giving medication and shots, managing specialty diets, and a number of other age specific needs. I'm very patient and am willing to take the time to get to know your pet and what they need. Every animal has a different personality and needs attention in different ways, and I'm very attentive to that! I will always treat your pet as if they were my own, and will to the best of my ability make sure that your pet is well taken care of at all times.

Safety, trust & environment

I have lived with my own dog in a variety of different conditions. From being on our own in both houses and apartments, to having a full house of dogs and cats. I am well versed in any additional responsibilities and special care based on living situations, and have no trouble go up and down a few flights of stairs for potty breaks/walks, etc.

I couldn't ask for more than what Nicholas has been able to provide for my puppy! He was quick to respond and clearly communicated his plans for training and caring for Nova. His williness to take on the challenging adventure of puppyhood is greatly appreciated!

Nicholas is one of the most passionate people I've ever met. Period. But he really comes to life when he's interacting with animals, any animal. His best friend is his dog Chip and I have never seen a more devoted pet parent. His kind and compassionate nature, his care and tenderness and desire for all animals to be happy and healthy makes him a perfect candidate for this position.

Nicholas is the only person who could maybe love dogs more than me. He loves taking his dog everywhere and is always going on the next adventure. The amount of love between him and Chip (his pup) is immense. Anyone who is looking for a dog sitter that will actually love your dog and go on adventures with them, I would highly recommend Nicholas!

I’m almost always available. My location says WA, but that was just my last permanent address before taking the leap of full time van life. I travel for a living, and that allows me to accept side jobs and pet care at a moments notice.

One of the most important things to me is knowing what level of training they have and general temperament. Is he/she playful or shy? On edge around other dogs, or the life of the party? All of our dogs have quirks and different personalities, so a general rundown of that would be awesome! These general guidelines will help me learn your pet quickly, and assist me in taking better care of them overall, as well as providing a little added emotional comfort of being understood by someone else while their human is away. If you have BIG dogs, (Danes, Mastiffs, Rottweilers) PLEASE choose me! I have a special place in my heart of big dogs who seem to always have a bigger heart for us. I love the leaners, the slobbery kissers, and the not-so-lap-sized lap dogs!
