I run my own business, which gives me a flexible schedule. During slower periods of work I like to stay active and productive, which makes dog walking and pet care a great fit for my routine. I enjoy getting outside for walks and staying active, so making sure dogs get exercise, attention, and care throughout the day comes naturally to me. Because I manage my own schedule, I’m able to be reliable and give pets the time and attention they need.

At the moment I’m not able to host pets in my own home, so I focus on providing care in my client’s home where the dog is already comfortable and in a familiar environment. I make sure pets stay on their normal routine with walks, feeding, playtime, and lots of attention. This includes their daily routine, feeding schedule, energy level, and any medical needs or medications. It’s also helpful to know how they behave around other dogs, people, or new environments, as well as any triggers or things that may make them anxious. I also like to know their favorite activities, toys, and commands so I can keep things consistent with what they’re used to. The more I know about your pet ahead of time, the easier it is for me to make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and happy while in my care.
A typical day
I like to keep dogs active, happy, and mentally stimulated while I’m caring for them. Depending on the dog’s personality and energy level, that can include walks, playing fetch, tug-of-war, or just spending time outside getting fresh air. For more relaxed dogs, I’m happy to spend time giving them attention, belly rubs, and keeping them company so they feel comfortable while their owner is away. I also enjoy exploring new walking routes so dogs get plenty of exercise and stimulation. My goal is always to make sure the dog feels safe, has fun, and gets lots of attention while in my care.

I’ve spent a lot of time around larger dogs and understand the responsibility that comes with handling strong, energetic breeds. I’ve also cared for a deaf dog before, so I’m comfortable adapting to different needs and communicating with dogs in ways that work best for them. I’ve handled stressful situations as well, including a time when a dog I was caring for had stitches rip and needed immediate attention. Because of experiences like that, I stay calm under pressure and always prioritize the dog’s safety and well-being. I’ve also looked after an older three-legged husky, which taught me how to be patient and attentive with dogs that need a little extra care and support. I’m attentive, patient, and treat every dog like they’re my own.

Nick is excellent with animals. I had him look after my husky who unfortunately had a leg removed from cancer. Nick took extra care of him assisting with medicines and carrying him up and down the stairs as he couldn’t quite figure out how to navigate them. He is definitely the kind of guy you want looking after your pets.
