Pet care experience
“Until one has loved an animal, a part of one’s soul remains unawakened.” - Anatole France After 15 years of working unhappily in a corporate environment, I’ve realized that I want to do something more meaningful with my life. I’ve always expressed a love of animals (particularly dogs) and would very much like to be involved in the daily care of them. I’ve recently started volunteering at Foothills Animal Rescue and Home ‘Fur’ Good, begun taking online coursework (as it relates to the dog walking / pet sitting business), and have completed an in-person class on pet CPR, First-Aid, and care. I’m also looking into additional pet training, becoming a pet foster care parent, as well as helping rehabilitate dogs with severe behavioral / socialization problems so that they can find permanent, forever homes. I am a valuable, reliable, detail-oriented professional who has consistently performed at a high level, proven can be trusted, and demonstrated the capability to take on additional responsibility when needed. I want to thank you for your consideration and hope to hear from you in the near future. I am also open to an in-person interview at your convenience. I am incredibly excited and look forward to having the opportunity to care for your furry family member.
Reviews
We left our pets for 10 days. Nicholas sent us DAILY updates and took such good care of our cats while we were gone. Thank you Nicholas for being so professional and making us feel like our cats were in great, caring hands.
Nicholas did an amazing job watching my pets. This was a difficult situation to come into as one dog was recovering from vestibular disease and the other was just spayed. There was a need to administer medicine with changing doses throughout his stay. He was responsive and wonderful. I was so appreciative to have him watching the pets.
I have four French Bulldogs and two of them are special needs. Nicholas is very reliable and kind with each one of them. He is very communicative with me and that gives me great peace of mind when I am unable to be home with them. His attention to details and his caring disposition are a great aspect of his wonderful service. I would highly recommend him for your pet sitting needs!
Nicholas has cared for our dog, Brody, several times. He is very detail oriented, and provides excellent care for our dog. You can count on him to be on time and give you a very thorough report after he leaves. He has done drop-ins and overnights for us. He is extremely neat and tidy when he does overnights. I would highly recommend Nicholas!

Information Nicholas I. would like to know about your pet
Does your dog have any special needs? What are your dogs likes / dislikes? Who is your dog’s veterinarian (in case of an emergency)? What is your dogs feeding schedule and does he / she have any dietary restrictions? Are they allowed to have treats? Where do you keep their food / equipment (i.e harnesses, leashes, carriers, crates, cleaning supplies, etc.)? What exercise routine do you currently have with your dog? Do they have any physical restrictions / health issues? What is your dogs usual bathroom routine? Is your dog on any medications? If so, how often is it administered? Does your dog have any aggressions (i.e food, other animals, people, territory, toy / object, etc.)? Does your dog growl, lunge, or bark at other dogs and animals? Does your dog have a history of biting? If so, how many people / animals has he / she bitten? Does your dog have a microchip? Is your dog up-to-date on vaccinations and flea treatment? Is your dog used to being left alone? For how long and at what times? Does your dog have any potential risky behaviors, such as getting in the trash and/or chewing on furniture? Is your dog crate-trained? If so, when does the dog go / get put in the crate and for how long? If your dog is frightened, anxious, or experiencing separation anxiety, what helps soothe him / her? What time should the dog care (house sitting, drop-ins, walking) occur? Is there flexibility with times? What are the procedures for getting into / out of the home (i.e doors, codes, keys)? Is there a security system/ cameras that I should be aware of? Are there other people that may appear in / around the home (i.e housekeeper, landscaper, relatives)?
A typical day
While the level of exercise will vary depending upon breed and type, I am fully aware that all dogs benefit from both physical and mental stimulation. Based upon the weather conditions, individual needs, and his / her physical limitations, your furry family member can expect a nice, lengthy walk full of exercise and enrichment. I also plan to help stimulate their minds by playing games with them and/or teaching them new tricks. Maybe even try a fun puzzle toy.
