It’s also helpful to know their temperament, energy level, and how they usually behave around new people or other dogs. I also ask about any medical needs, allergies, medications, or special care instructions so I can make sure they are looked after properly. Knowing what they enjoy—such as favourite toys, games, or walking routes—also helps me make their stay more fun and stress-free. The more I know about your dog in advance, the better I can make sure they feel safe, happy, and right at home while they’re with me.

A typical day starts with making sure the dogs are comfortable and settled, followed by their morning walk so they can stretch their legs and get some fresh air. After that, they’ll have time to relax, play, or explore the garden depending on their energy level and routine. Throughout the day I like to include plenty of playtime, enrichment, and attention so the dogs stay happy and engaged. This can include walks around the quiet estate, playing with toys, spending time in the fenced garden, and lots of affection and companionship. I always adapt activities depending on the dog’s age, personality, and energy level. I also make sure to follow their normal feeding schedule and any routines they’re used to so they feel comfortable and at home. In the evening we’ll usually have another walk or some relaxed playtime before settling down for the night. I’ll also send regular photo and message updates so owners can see how their dog is doing and have peace of mind while they’re away.
