Pet care experience
I have taken care of animals since I was 10. My first pet was a rabbit. Then my family got a golden retriever puppy and as the oldest child I was assigned to walk and clean up after her. I have also taken care of an old, sick dog that required a lot attention and special treatment.
Reviews

Nia was exceptional. It was the weekend of the big snow & ice storm and she handled everything flawlessly. She took get care of Shadow and all the unusual circumstances resulting from the storm. I couldn’t be more pleased with her performance and I highly recommend her.

We were gone over Christmas and Nia was happy to watch our furbabies, and ensure we were able to enjoy our time away. Whenever we reached out she was prompt with a response and easy to communicate with. Nia gave our furbabies all the love and attention!

Nia stayed at our home for 16 days while we were overseas and cared for our two dogs. The dogs were safe and healthy when we returned, which was our main concern and we’re grateful for that. That said, communication and attention to detail could have been better. We received only two updates during the entire trip—one after we specifically asked for it and another at the very end when we were already on our way home. The photos she sent made the dogs look a bit down, which made us more anxious than reassured. We also asked for a few photos of our roses (a small request since my husband is an avid rose gardener). Only one photo was sent—of a dying bloom—though when we came home, many roses were in full bloom. It felt like our small requests were overlooked, and we had to repeat certain instructions a few times. The automatic dog water bowl was quite dirty when we returned, and my husband had to remind her during the stay to clean the eye gook that had built up on our poodle’s eyes. These are basic aspects of pet care that we would have expected any experienced sitter or dog lover to recognize without needing to be told. Additionally, the dogs got into one of our indoor plants at some point. We understand that can happen if they’re bored or left unattended for a while. The concern wasn’t so much that it happened, but that we weren’t informed—my husband had to ask about it, rather than being told proactively. Overall, Nia covered the basics—the dogs were fine—but we would have appreciated more consistent communication, initiative, and attentiveness to the small but meaningful details of their care and our home.

Nia help us out very last minute, she also hadn’t met our family yet, so she took a big chance on us! Communicated with us the whole time plus sent a picture. Greatly appreciate you :)
