When caring for animals it is extremely important to me to follow the instructions left for me to a T! I have always preferred having “extra detailed” instructions rather than too little information - in my opinion the more info I have about your animal’s typical day the better, as I make all efforts to replicate the same experience they have when being walked or cared for by their family.
Information Netiya S. would like to know about your pet
To start with, any general info about their temperament is always appreciated. When it comes to dog walking and care, I always ask if a dog has any particular triggers on walks, including but not limited to squirrels, bikes, busses, and cats. I also ask how the dog is with strangers, and if they enjoy meeting and getting attention from strangers or would generally prefer to be left alone. One of the most important questions I’ll ask is how the dog feels about other dogs, particularly whether they are leash reactive, barrier reactive, or reactive towards particular sized dogs. This is very important information as I have experience walking dogs with all different levels of reactivity, and it’s crucial that I know ahead of time the best way to react to seeing other dogs on our walks. For cats I like to know a bit about their personality including their likes and dislikes, such as specific toys, treats, or places to be pet. I obviously need to know about any unique medical needs in order to provide proper care, but generally I find that most cats enjoy my company and that, while all cats are unique and have distinctive personalities, I don’t need as much info about cats as I would with dogs since we won’t be going on walks outside and consequently are not exposed to as many unpredictable experiences.
A typical day
When I walk dogs, I often let them show me where they want to go, as long as it’s safe. Living in Chicago, the weather can be severe and unpredictable, so I also make sure that it is safe for us to be outdoors for the full time of the walk, and when it’s not I will do my best to make sure they do their business and then bring them back inside and play with them indoors for the remainder of the walk. For dogs who enjoy meeting strangers I will occasionally take them to the local coffee shop to give them a treat, as long as the owner permits it. I also enjoy taking dogs to local parks when possible.

Caring for others is my passion.
Pet care experience
As of 2026, I’ve been working with animals full time for about a decade. My love for animals began in my childhood, which was filled with pets of all shapes and sizes - dogs, cats, rats, gerbils, geckos, and even a snake. I consider taking care of living beings my purpose in life, which is why I center my life around helping people. As a child, I was always babysitting, walking dogs, and taking care of my friends' and neighbors' pets. I have grown accustomed to being the responsible person my friends and contacts go to when they need a pet sitter. Throughout my life I have lived with dogs and cats of all ages and all sizes, and my love for all animals makes the work I do both fun and fulfilling. No matter what I do, I pride myself on always delivering the highest standard of care.

Reviews
The only cat sitter I’d ever trust to watch my cats! Netiya is fantastic. I am never worried about having to go out of town and leaving my cats in her care.
Netiya has been sitting for our two cats for a few years now. She is one of the only people I’d trust to take care of my cats. She is always very communicative and it’s evident she does a great job caring for my cats. I 100% recommend her to anyone looking for a fantastic pet sitter!

Netiya is super proactive, communicative, and flexible. You can also tell she has a strong care for animals. Would definitely book again.
Netiya consistently gives our cats the very best care. We wouldn’t trust anyone else to watch after our cats at this point. Cannot recommend her enough. We never have to worry when we go out of town. Netiya is the best!
