Aloha! I’m Nea, a born-and-raised Kaua‘i girl now living in Honolulu near Ala Moana. I’ve grown up around and owned animals my whole life—horses, chickens, bunnies, birds, cats, and of course, dogs—and I’m truly an all-around animal lover! I get so much joy out of spending time with animals and helping care for others’ furry friends. Whether it’s a playful puppy, a senior needing a little extra TLC, or a quirky dog with specific routines, I genuinely love getting to know each one’s unique personality. I’ve raised and owned Border Collies and Australian Shepherds (you can see my parents dog, Tucker, a blonde collie, featured in a number of my photos), so I’m especially comfortable with high-energy breeds. However, I’ve worked with dogs of all types and temperaments. I’ve been a dog walker and sitter throughout high school and college, and through Rover for several years while living in NYC and back on Kaua‘i—so in total, I’ve been doing this as a side gig for about 15 years now. I’ve cared for everything from a tiny Chihuahua named Lolo to a 180lb Great Dane named Pebbles to a reactive hound named George who only did night walks. No matter the service (walks, drop-ins, etc), I treat every pet I work with like part of my family and love making their day brighter (and yours a little easier). My husband and I lost our beloved dog Logan last year due to cancer and, while we aren’t quite ready to welcome another pup into our home full-time, we’ve both gotten so much fulfillment from helping out other pet parents.

At the moment, I’m unable to offer overnights or boarding in my home, but I do provide walks, drop-in visits, and in-your-home sitting throughout Honolulu. When I’m caring for your pup—whether I’m stopping by for a quick visit or staying for longer—you can count on me to treat your space with the same respect and care I would my own. I make it a point to send regular, thorough updates and plenty of photos throughout my time with your pet. I know firsthand how stressful it can be to leave your furry friend with someone else, and I want to ease that as much as possible for my clients by keeping you informed and connected every step of the way! I’m dependable, communicative, and focused on making sure both you and your pet feel comfortable and at ease. I keep routines consistent, follow your instructions closely, and am always prepared to respond quickly if something unexpected comes up.

Amel adores Nea. Nea is super communicative and can solve problems readily like when I forgot to leave a fob for her but she was able to get into the building.
Nea made everything about going away and leaving my kitties ao much easier for me. She was attentive and responsive daily which really put my mind at ease and allowed me to enjoy time away without worry. I got daily updates and photos and I looked forward to that every day. I've booked Nea multiple times already and would not hesitate to recommend her. She is exactly what you want in a pet sitter.

I work from home as an education policy consultant, and I’m very lucky that my job offers a lot of flexibility and autonomy in scheduling. My workday typically starts early since my team is based on the mainland, which means I often wrap up by lunchtime and have plenty of time to spend with pups. Even during working hours, I can usually shift meetings or build in breaks to fit in a walk or drop-in visit. Overall, I’m able to accommodate most pet care routines. Whether it’s a quick morning walk, a lunchtime drop-in, or a longer afternoon outing for an energetic pup, I’m happy to tailor care to whatever works best for your dog! Weekends are also often wide open, and I’m more than happy to take clients then as well.

- Before I care for your pet, I always like to learn as much as I can to make sure they feel comfortable, safe, and happy while you’re away. Some of the things I find most helpful include: • Your dog’s personality and typical routine • Feeding schedule, portion sizes, and any treats they’re allowed • Any medications or health issues to watch for • How they do with other dogs, people, or new environments • Any known triggers (e.g., skateboards, loud noises, bikes) • Favorite activities, toys, and calming strategies • House rules (e.g., allowed on furniture? crate trained?) The more I know up front, the better I can tailor my care to your dog’s needs and make sure they’re getting all the love and attention they’re used to!
