Pet care experience

Active, work from home, fenced yard

I grew up caring for dogs, cats, horses and so on. We have many years of experience watching friends/family dogs. My wife and I both love animals and look forward to spending time with new furry friends. I work from home which allows our dogs to be out of their crates all the time. I am a social worker who works from home with meetings in the community at times. My wife is a hairdresser that is off Friday-Monday. Our dogs usually decide to sleep in and be lazy for most of the work day. We go for a walk or run around or large backyard everyday on my lunch break as well as once my work day is complete. Our dogs eat morning and evening. Our dogs have learned to ring a bell on the back door which alerts me when they needs/wants to go outside. She is let into our large fenced portion of our backyard which I can supervise from my home office. We have a large yard that has both a fenced and non-fenced area. We live outside of the city with very few neighbors. Our backyard borders an undeveloped pasture with some woods that we own. Our dogs are very playful and make great friends with dogs of all sizes. They often play with dogs from 5-100 pounds. They are snugglers and will make your dog feel at home. They enjoy running as fast as they can and showing off their massive toy collection. I have a regular dog that attends doggy daycare 2-3 days a week for the last 3 or so years. He is an older friendly pup.

The amazing care Juno received, and subsequent gratitude we have towards Nathaniel and Alyssa, is hard to put into words. Juno had a medical emergency in our absence. Nathaniel and Alyssa deftly navigated keeping us informed, while simultaneously not over worrying us with things that were out of our control, thousands of miles away, with little to no communication services; we trusted their judgement implicitly with regards to Juno’s care. They will be our go-to caregivers providers for Juno,

Our lab had a great time staying with Nova and her humans! We received updates and pictures of the fun he was having. He was well taken care of and tired when he came home. Signs of a great weekend!

Nathaniel is an absolutely fantastic dog sitter. My girlfriend and I have used him on multiple occasions over the years, and through it all we have become good friends. He is extremely attentive to dogs' needs and gives them attention throughout the day. It is especially helpful that Nathaniel frequently works from home, making his care around-the-clock. I highly recommend using him -- you won't regret it!

Calendar and availability

Schedule

I work from home with a few meetings in the community. I prioritize having dogs out of their crates as much as possible. With a 5 year old German shorthair and a young lab we stay active throughout the day.

Safety, trust & environment

Our dogs are very playful and spend a significant amount of time outside when the weather permits. We are an active family that prioritizes our dogs and their energy levels. When watching dogs outside of our home we ensure they get their energy out so they can relax until the next time checked on.

A typical day

We take our dog to local parks for runs through the woods. We also enjoy going to the Sand Dunes State Forest which is about 10 minutes away. During work hours the dogs enjoy spending time in the sun in the backyard which is fenced and supervised from our home office. We enjoy playing fetch and working on scent training.

It is important to know if your dog is on medications or has any special needs outside of the norm. We would also want to ensure your dog is good around other dogs and doesn’t show aggression. We would also want to know if your dog requires kenneling at any times as well as it’s feeding schedule. Dogs must be up to date on medical needs.
