Pet care experience

Trusted, professional dog-sitting

My wife and I have a lifetime of experience caring for dogs, including our own growing up (we don't currently have a pet living with us). We absolutely love having any and all animals around and love to take them on runs and walks on the Razorback Greenway! We have a running belt that we love to take the pups with the owners permission because it’s a great way to get their energy out!

They watched our baby while we were getting married!! We could tell he was well taken care of, and we didn’t have to worry about him at all! He seemed like he had a good time. They sent plenty of pics and updates as well!

We had a great experience with Nathan. He was very flexible and communicated well. Our dog felt comfortable with him right away and by the photos and texts we received throughout her stay, it was obvious she was in great hands.

Nathan was great while watching our pups! He was responsive and communicative when we were out of town. He kept us updated with pictures and made our pups feel at ease while we were away. Highly recommend!

George had a great stay with Nathan! George showed up with an unexpected ear issue and Nate did a great job treating it. I really liked that someone was almost always with George and also that there were no other pets in the house. George is not always comfortable being around other dogs so this was the perfect place to book. Nate exceeded my expectations. Thank you for looking after George so well.

Calendar and availability

Schedule

I work a hybrid software engineering position and my wife is a nightshift nurse who works three night shifts a week. This allows for us to always have someone home to stay with the dog and be able to consistently take them out. We make sure to set aside time for walks and playtime during throughout, and am available for check-ins and visits during evenings and weekends.

Safety, trust & environment

In our own home, we make sure to provide a safe and comfortable environment for the pets, including access to a crate if needed for safety or for the pet's comfort. We also make sure to keep our house clean and tidy. In clients' home, we follow the pet's routine as closely as possible and implement any specific instructions from the owner. We also make sure to keep the owner updated on the pet's well-being while they are away. And, we will make sure to provide the necessary care such as feeding, walking, and administering any necessary medication.

A typical day

As a responsible dog watcher, we believe in providing a fun and stimulating environment for the dogs in my care. We tailor my activities to each individual dog based on their breed, size, energy level, and personality. One our favorite things to do is take them on runs if they’re able to as we both love to run and live right next to the razorback greenway! We love taking the dogs on walks and exploring new neighborhoods and parks! We have a few favorite spots for scenic walks, including local trails with plenty of sights and smells to keep the dogs entertained. We also believe in providing plenty of physical exercise to keep the dogs happy and healthy, so we will often incorporate runs and playtime into our walks. Our goal is always to make sure that the dogs in our care are having a fun and enjoyable time!

When it comes to taking care of a dog, it's important to have information about the dog's personality, breed, size, energy level, dietary restrictions, medical needs, and any behavioral concerns. Knowing these details helps us to provide the best possible care and meet the dog's individual needs while they are in my care. Additionally, it's important to know the dog's routine, including their feeding and walking schedules, as well as any special commands or signals that they are familiar with. By having this information ahead of time, we can ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience for both the dog and their owner.
