Mr. Harris is truly one of a kind. Where do I even begin regarding Mr. Harris? Shortly after moving into the community, he adopted a stray dog that everyone had come to know as “Dreads.” The dog was in extremely poor condition and would not allow anyone to get close to him. Many people tried to help, but Dreads only trusted Mr. Harris. It was incredible to witness the bond they formed. Rain or shine, Dreads would sit outside waiting for Mr. Harris to come out of his apartment. Mr. Harris already had another rescue dog named Goldie, who was missing a limb, yet he still opened his heart and home to another animal in need. Dreads would often spend time with Mr. Harris in the community garden that he maintained and operated. Mr. Harris even created a warm, cozy area in the garden where Dreads could stay dry and comfortable during bad weather. Without hesitation, Mr. Harris took it upon himself to make sure Dreads received proper care. He arranged grooming appointments, took him to the veterinarian for vaccinations, and made sure he was healthy and safe. What stood out most was how naturally Dreads gravitated toward Mr. Harris. Community members would bring treats and try to interact with him, but Dreads only truly connected with Mr. Harris. Watching their relationship grow was inspiring and heartwarming. Mr. Harris has a rare gift when it comes to animals — patience, compassion, kindness, and understanding. He has demonstrated an exceptional ability to care for animals that have experienced neglect and hardship. I can confidently say that Mr. Harris would be the perfect candidate to work with animals, and I would trust him with my own pets without hesitation.
