Pet care experience

Dog lover

Taking care of animals is my passion. I lost my dog due to her being hit by a car the first time I ever left her under the care of another pet sitter while I went on vacation. Because of this experience, I know the fears of leaving a dog with someone else and the devastation of losing a dog. I am dedicated to never letting this happen to anyone else's dog. I know how dogs can act when not with their owners and how to keep them safe. Since then, I started fostering dogs and kittens at the humane society and ended up adopting in one of the foster dogs that came from a puppy mill. When fostering, I bring the dogs into my home and take care of the dogs until they are ready to be adopted. I deal with all different kinds of personalities, traumas, puppies and seniors. These animals usually come in with some kind of trauma. The needs can differ to having a quiet place to rest, recovery from surgery, needing medication for a sickness or really anything. I've seen it all. I also dog sit my friends dog for 5 years now every time he needs a sitter as he says I am the only one he trusts.

Clio had an amazing time with Natasha. Wished we lived in the Edmonton area so that she could go back sometime. Not only was she well loved, she also got brushed (no small feat with poodle hair), and a wound taken care of that I didn’t know about. We will definitely be reaching out to her again if we find ourselves in the Edmonton area.

Our dogs had a wonderful stay! This was their first time being left with someone outside of our home, and we were a bit nervous, but she made the whole experience so reassuring. She communicated well throughout, was very attentive, and clearly understands dog behaviour. When we picked them up, we could tell from their happy energy and the way they interacted with her that they had felt safe, comfortable, and had so much fun. We could see how much they bonded with her and Luca, made us so happy to see them enjoy their time away from home. We’re very grateful and would absolutely recommend her! Thank you Natasha and Luca!!

Schedule

I work casual work but I am home weekday evenings after 4pm and weekends as well as every school holiday, meaning two weeks at Christmas, Fall break, Spring break, PD days and long weekends. I give my own dog a walk every day right after work and two walks on the weekends or on my days off during the day so your dog would tag along with that.

Safety, trust & environment

I have a fenced backyard with no holes and lattice board around the bottom of my deck to keep pets from going under the deck. My backyard is completely dog proof with lots of room for running around. I have a 9 pound Bichon poo who LOVES all dogs and is very gentle, calm and playful. I live alone in a very quiet, calm house.

Pets

A typical day

I like to take the dogs on walks and introduce them to new toys while I play with them. I sometimes like to take my dog on outings to the store, a dog park or festival to give variety of things to prevent boredom and get him out of the house. I can do this with your pet too if you like. But If you like me to just stay home all day and snuggle up with a movie, that is fine too.
