I'm a singer-songwriter and artist so most of my work is freelance and therefore my schedule is fairly flexible. Because I have regular weekly clients at the moment I can't take house-sitting requests for more than a few hours in the evenings but I have plenty of drop-in and walk slots available across the week. I can occasionally do some house-sitting bookings at weekends. I am generally available for last-minute requests as long as they are within 35 minutes walking distance from me.

Safety, trust & environment

Each pet is different and I generally meet pets and their owners before house-sittings, drop-ins and walks. Some cats and dogs are shy and take time to approach you while others approach straight away. I let them get comfortable around me and take time to get to know them when I spend time with them. While my brother was away I've fed Stich the dog, picked up poop, taken him for long walks, vet appointments, played with him and watched TV shows with him and made sure to let him know he's a good boy. When looking after my friend's cat I made sure his litter tray wasn't too filthy, he always had food and water and I brushed him and petted him. When looking after Joanie the dog I made sure she had her breakfast, her dinner, clean water, her morning and evening outing to do her business and her daily walk. I would give her plenty of pets, talk to her and I would give her space when she needed a quiet corner to retreat.

A typical day

When I do drop-in visits for Maggie I say hello and I play with her and sit with her. I feed her her lunch and I let her out for a wee and zoomies in the garden. She loves playing with her toy squirrel and she loves to chew on her chew sticks while sitting in my lap. When I take Kubra for a walk I first give her her full body scritches that she loves and then we go for a walk to her favourite park where she can sniff all the interesting smells. With Stitch the dog, the day will start off with breakfast the most important meal of the day with head scratches followed by a walk in the park. After that Stitch has his post-walk nap and I let him sleep. After that I play tug of war with him or he chews his toys. The evenings are for movie nights and cuddles on the sofa. With Fergy the cat the day begins with finding him sprawled out on the bathroom mat or in the bath and turning on the tap for him to swap the water and drink from it. There must also be brushing while singing the brushing song while he stretches and wriggles purring. After the food and litter tray is checked Fergy will do his Fergy wanderings while I do my own thing and in the evening we sit in the lounge while he sits in my lap watching TV. When it is bed time occasionally he decides to come and sleep on the bed. With Joanie the dog, the day begins at 9 taking her out for her outing to do her business followed by breakfast then I do my work while she lies next to me or goes off to have quiet time to herself and she can come and go as she pleases. At around midday she goes for her long walks where she loves to sniff and occasionally gets zoomies when she is excited. After we return home she either cuddles up next to me or she goes to her own space. At around 6pm I take her for her evening business hour followed by her dinner and then we have movie and cuddle time. Before bed we have another outdoor business outing and then she curls up on the end of the bed to sleep. With Margot and Luna the day begins with breakfast for Margot and Luna and then myself followed by a walk with Margot. She generally takes me on a walk as she knows her way around and she knows where she wants to go. Her favourite places are her local park and the local pubs and the local pet store. Later she has her dinner and the 3 of us cosy up on the sofa for a film.

Pet care experience

Since 12/01/2026 have been doing multiple weekly drop-in visits for Maggie, a very sweet, energetic and photogenic 5 month old maltese poodle mix. She loves going for zoomies in the garden, playing with her toy squirrel and chewing her chew sticks while sitting in my lap. Since 16/02/2026 I have been taking Kubra, a lovely energetic 2 year old Staffie for walks on multiple days a week. She loves full body scritches and she loves to go for walks in her favourite park where she can sniff all the interesting smells. I've also looked after many pets including: My brother's lovely and very lively cockerspaniel Stitch while he's been away many times for over 2 years and I love taking him for walks and napping with him. I have also taken care of my friend's cat Fergy while he was away. Fergy always liked drinking from the bath tap and playing with the water. He also always liked to be in the room with me and would sit on my lap when watching TV and he would sleep on my feet at night. I looked after a lovely mixed breed dog called Joanie twice while her owners were away. We would go on walks to her favourite spots and spend afternoons and evenings watching films on the sofa and she would sleep beside me at night. I have looked after a senior Frenchie named Margot and her cat sister Luna twice. Margot would take me for a walk (she knows where she wants to go) and the 3 of us would sit on the sofa in the evenings watching TV. I have done drop-in visits to feed a very shy cat named Beggy. I have done a drop-in visit to spend time with a very chilled-out cockerpoodle named Rupert. I have walked a sweet easy-going senior easy-going poodle named Myla. I also do pet portraits. I have some examples on my profile. If you would like a pet portrait of your own, feel free to send me a commission request and we can work out the pricing later.
