For my clients home I handle the essentials including scooping the litter box daily (and sweeping up stray litter), washing food and water bowls, and putting out fresh meals on their exact schedule. For interacting I let the cat set the pace, for social cats I provide dedicated playtime with wand toys or laser pointers. Meanwhile for shy or hiding cats I remain sitting quietly nearby so they feel safe, while still checking on them to ensure they are healthy.
